For so long, girls and boys were claimed to 'complete' one another, to be each other's missing half; but, for some twisted reason, this so called claim was never the case and even most times the two genders plotted against one another, be it they themselves putting the other gender in deep trouble or having someone from the opposite sex rip apart the throat of their own kind.
I know! I know! I know what you all are thinking: "She is exaggerating way too much!" ; but trust me I'm not, and deep down you all know it.
So let's dig up the knowing part 'cause the story is about to get interesting.
It started normal. It was the beginning of senior year and everything was going rather smoothly. Good grades, no fights, no troubles. It was my free period and I was bored out of mind, for I had decided to use the free period as a break rather than a study hall.
As I walked past the boys' locker room, I heard the voice of boys talking. Weren't they supposed to be playing basketball? Why didn't the coach kick their sorry asses and gave them detention?
Being the curious girl I am, I leaned against the slightly ajar door, listening in to their conversation. It seemed like they all were talking to one another, kinda chaotic if you ask me. Then I heard someone shouting for them to quiet down. They instantly shut up. From the slight opening I could make out the face of my ex, Aaron, talking to the boys at the locker room like he owned the place. Next to him stood my childhood best friend, Jeremy, his muscular arms crossed over his broad chest sternly, a dead serious look on his face. Aaron spoke up, his expression and attitude as bratty as ever.
"Alright, listen up!" Aaron's voice was full of authority, and as much as I hated to admit it, Aaron, Jeremy, and Zayn ruled Ashwood High with an iron fist. Which is funny, for back in elementary school and junior high, they were what people labeled as total nerds/losers. But well, they came to high school and changed it drastically, and for good, at least for them. Their status update had a major effect on their attitude and they went from nice guys to total jerks, well, 2/3 of them. Zayn was still kind of nice, not like angel nice but definantly a fair distance away Aaron's devilish attitude, and Jeremy's impulsive behavior.
"Girls are getting a little...bold in this school. The hoes think they get a say in things. Like that bitch, Carla. Brad, are you really gonna take that humiliation from her?" Aaron accused Brad, one of the star basketball players. "Yeah, man. That's a real downgrade. We can't have that in the team." Jeremy added on, trying to put the poor boy on edge. "Guys, she only broke up with me. No biggie." The accused basketball player tried to sooth his hurt ego. " 'Just'? Are you hearing yourself? SHE was the one who ended things, not YOU. That's quite bizarre, man." Jeremy taunted, making the whole room of idiots boo. Brad looked for the last ray of hope. "Zayn, what do you think? You don't think that it's a big deal, right?" All the eyes were now set on Zayn. I knew how much he hated being in the center of attention and how it got him nervous out of his mind. I could see his palms sweat all the way from my hiding spot. But he was good at masking it. He put on his infamous poker face and his expression went even more blank, as if that was even possible. With his arms crossed over his chest, he gave the guy flat look. "What do you think, idiot? You've been the laughing stock of the school for quite a while now."
As much as I expected more from Zayn, I had to admit Brad had gotten on his black list, and that's anything but good. Just like most Zayn's out there, Zayn Raad prefered to blend into the shadows and keep to himself. Much like that guy from The Internship, the head of search.
Understanding that he is left alone and will probably be the laugh of the boys, Brad used every guy's typical defense strategy; straight forward attack. He got angry. "What do you suggest I do, man, huh? It's over now. I canNOT change what has already happened. Fenito!" He got into Zayn's face, and Zayn being Zayn, kept his poker face on. I took out my phone from my jean pockets and turned it on, pressing record as Aaron opened his mouth to speak. "Now we are talking! Alright listen up, this is how it's about to go down..."
