*Y/N's POV*

I can't do this anymore. I've known Melanie for almost half a year and my feelings for her are strong. I'm going to tell her. I mean, if she says no then we can still be friends. No more beating around the bush. I was going to tell her yesterday but I wasn't able to reach her, nor Troye and Ashley. Huh, strange.

As soon as I woke up, which was at around 10am, I got myself ready for the day. After my usual morning routine, I went down and made myself some breakfast. I was scrolling through my phone whilst eating and I didn't notice my Mum coming downstairs.

"Hey Y/N." My Mum greeted tiredly. I chuckled a bit. "Morning Mum." I replied. "What are you doing?" My Mum asked whilst preparing herself some breakfast. "Nothing. Just checking my socials and stuff." I answered, my eyes glued onto my phone. My Mum hummed as she finished making her breakfast and sat opposite me.

"You planning to meet your friends today?" My Mum asked. I shut my phone and placed it down as I continued eating and looked at my Mum. I shrugged. "Yeah I guess." I answered. There was a moment of silence until my Mum spoke up.

"You like Melanie, don't you?" I choked on my tea and felt my cheeks burn up. I heard my Mum chuckle. "W-what makes you think that?" I asked as I attempted to calm myself. "I'm not an idiot, Y/N." She answered as she grinned. I smirked. "Well~" I sung out jokingly. My Mum scoffed. "Excuse me, I'm the only intelligent person in this house." This time it was my time to scoff. My Mum smiled evily before she spoke again. "Now, answer the question, do you like Melanie or not?" She asked eagerly. Again, I felt my cheeks burn up. "Um, yes." I quickly answered. I could feel my face turn all red and I started to feel hot. My Mum quietly cheered. "I knew it! You're so obvious Y/N. I could see the adoration in your eyes." My eyes widened. "What!? How!?" I asked a bit too loudly. My Mum chuckled. My Dad walked in the kitchen and looked at us questioningly.

"What's happening here?" My Dad asked, confused. My Mum stood up and walked over to him. "You owe me 10 dollars." My Dad's eyes widened. "No fucking way!" My Dad stated, shocked. "You like Melanie!?" He asked. I shyly nodded my head. "Yes she does, now hand over the money, sweetie." My Mum teased. My Dad groaned and handed her the money. She sat down again, her smile not leaving her face. It took a second for me to register what happened.

"Wait one holy second!" I shouted. "Wow, I didn't know time can be religious." My Dad mumbled to himself but we heard and my Mum chuckled a bit. I ignored and focused on my thoughts. "You guys placed a bet on whether I like Melanie or not?" I asked. They sheepishly looked towards each other and then back to me. "Well, not necessarily. We placed a bet on to see who knows you better. It was obviously no surprise that it's me, of course." My Mum answered as she sassily flicked her hair. My Dad rolled his eyes and started making his breakfast.

"So, when are you going to tell her?" My Dad asked as he sat down and had his cereal. "I am going to tell her today." I answered. My Dad nodded his head and continued eating. That reminds me, I need to message Melanie.

I got my phone and messaged Melanie.

Y/N/N: hey, u free to chill today?

MelanieLBBH: Idk if I can chill, it's pretty warm today

Y/N/N: did u jus-nvm. I need to talk to u abt smth rlly important.

MelanieLBBH: yeah. I need to talk to you about something as well.

Y/N/N: mmmkay. So ill see u at the park at around 11?

MelanieLBBH: Yeah. See u soon, baiii

Huh, I wonder what she wants to tell me. I shook the thoughts out of my head and finished my breakfast. I cleared after myself and checked the time. 10:37. I got some time to kill. I did so by messaging my good ol' mature friends that are definitely not weird.

Y/N/N: ayoooo

*time skip to the park cuz i hAvE tHe rIgHts*

We were walking back from the park after acting like children for an hour and a half. The time together consisted of me teasing Melanie and her yelling at me for teasing her, so the usual basically. She's very cute though so it was worth the slaps. It was a silent walk until I finally found the courage to confess my feelings but Melanie spoke at the same time.

"I need to tell you something." We both said at the same time. "Ok, you go first." We both offered at the same time again. We both just chuckled and stopped walking. I stopped first and began to speak. "Ok, you go first. I'll tell you what I wanted to after." Melanie began to blush and shyly smiled. So cute.

"O-okay." She mumbled out but I heard.

It was a nice day, barely any people at the park and there was a slight breeze. It was also quiet and relaxing. Perfect, just like the person infront of me.

"The thing that I wanted to tell you is..." she started off. I gestured her to continue by smiling and nodding my head. She smiled lightly. She then continued.

"Well, I wanted to know if you would like to-" She was then cut off.

"-Y/N?"
