CHAPTER TWO!
today was sunday, one of daisy's favorite days. she was going to church. and no daisy isn't super religious, she went to church just for a chance to visit her best friend in the entire world, alexander averyson.
let's just say around the time daisy moved to hawkins alexander's life just fell apart when his entire family passed in a house fire.
alexander, or alex as daisy calls him, was forced into a home for boys, when he had no family to take him in.
she was always there for alex and always will be, the boys are forced to go to church every sunday and because you have to have a guardian with you if you are under 18 to visit why not go to church?
daisy curled her short hair, and applied her fifth and final layer of lipgloss.
she fluffed her dress, before there was a honk outside of her house; it was her grandmother ruby, ruby woods. aka grammy.
"hi grammy!" daisy smiles as she steps into the front seat of the car.
"hi, darling, you didn't forget the ole bible did you?" she smiles.
"of course not" she shakes her head, causing her grammy to laugh.
while her grandmother went into the sanctuary, daisy went downstairs to help with the little kids for sunday school, also where you would find alex.
daisy hops down the multiple flights of stairs before reaching the bottom.
she looks around to find alex, the tall boy in dark clothing, pouring orange juice for the kids.
when he spotted her, he waved her over.
"hi alex," daisy hugs him. "daisy" alex smiles hugging her back.
"need any help?" daisy asks. "uh yeah, could you grab the cookies and put 2 on each of the napkins" he says pointing at the near rows of napkins he laid out.
daisy nodded her head smiling doing what alex had requested.
you may be wondering, how does daisy even live going to church with a big group of boys? well lucky her there's one girl that saves her from any and everything, larae hutcherson.
larae has been going to the church with the group of boys before daisy joined and couldn't be more excited for a girl her age, with some of the same likings to join her.
larae wasn't religious at all, she only went for the luncheons afterwards and having daisy there made her want to go more.
daisy and larae become closer by sitting with eachother during lunch. larae was a sophomore while daisy was a junior but it never really mattered.
alex went to a private school, which is another whole reason for daisy to come to this church.
"you look hot" larae booty bumps daisy while she helps her with the cookies.
"don't i always" daisy softly flips her hair from her shoulder.
"yes!" alex says without even turning around, causing the girls to pause, look at eachother and laugh.
after sunday school was over alex, larae, daisy and some other high schoolers decided to hang out in the park area waiting for the adults to finish up.
daisy and alex sat in the same big swing while larae sat in a single swing.
alex's arm was draped around daisy's tan shoulders, while her head rest on his shoulder.
nobody saw it as weird, everybody knew the bond between the two best friends and they knew that they would never become a couple either.
the friends were sitting, laughing at some jokes, while the crisp wind blew through their hair, and the birds flew low over the shallow quartz lake.
"who the hell is that, smoking on a church property?" larae asks laughing. daisy had to look twice before she knew exactly who it was.
mike wheeler. there he was, a cigarette in his mouth looking out over the lake.
randomly he turn around to find daisy and her friends.
"yo! wassup daisy!" he waves from afar. "oh my gosh" daisy tries to look away, but the boy started to make his way over to the group.
"well well well, i knew you were a privileged white girl, catholic church really?" he chuckles puffing his cigarette.
"okay now so for one!" daisy stands up, angered. "no smoking here!" she snatched the cigarette from his mouth and throws it on the concrete. "and two i'm not even religious okay? i'm just here to see alexander." she motions to the boy, as he weakly waves.
"aw is that your boyfriend?" mike says. "uh no!" daisy scoffs. "he's my best friend and he has way more manners than you do anyways"
mike rolls his eyes "and what is your name hot stuff?" he says looking at larae. larae doesn't even reply, she just gives the rude boy a death stare before he backs off.
"that is larae, and you need to la-leave" she says nudging him.
"okay, okay calm your tits, i was wondering if you wanted to maybe i don't know hang out after school tomorrow?" mike asks.
"why would i wanna do that? i don't even know you!" daisy says.
"are you kidding me, you basically summarized my whole life story last night, i mean what's it gonna hurt? it'll just be us." he says.
daisy continues to stand there with her arms crossed. "fine" mike throws his hands up in defeat. "but the offers still on the table, meet me at the star court mall at 4:30 by the fountain" he winks. before he boops her nose "boop"
"how does he know, that you like nose boops" alex asks.
daisy shakes her head, still watching the boy walk away, lighting yet another cigarette.
"i may know" larae stands up, daisy looks at her because she knew too.
