(Castiel's POV)

The door slammed heavily as my new roommate stormed out of our door room, or his dorm room as he seems to be treating it. The one true conversation they had ended in Dean just stating rules that weren't at all fair due to their living condition. I won't let that get me down, however.

I decided since I was alone that it would be the best time to call home. I got my phone out of my pocket and looked for the contact that said "Naomi" who is my stepmother. She is the one who is somehow able to keep my huge family intact... for the most part that is.

I press "call" and wait for her to answer. After a few hums from the phone, I hear her strict voice.

"Castiel? Have you unpacked your stuff?"

"Yes, I-"

"How about food? Have you eaten yet?"

"No, not yet. I'm plan-"

"Castiel you have to eat. This can't be like last year. The doctors say you need to gain weight not lose anymore"

"Naomi, I'm eati-"

"I know that you can be busy studying sometimes, but eating is just as important as grades. I can't bear to think of you out there not eating" She started going off, and I just listened. She doesn't mean harm by telling me what to do. I know she is doing this because she cares and things haven't been so easy at home.

"I have it under control Naomi" I said sternly in hopes that she would drop the subject. I heard a sigh come from her, a sign that she's given up on that subject,

"Okay, how about your roommate? Have you met him yet?" she said.

"Yeah" I said thinking it probably wasn't the best to go into detail about how Dean made it very clear that they would never become friends or even acquaintances it seems like.

"Hey Naomi how's Dad?"

There was a pause

"The rehab says that he's doing as well as to be expected Castiel. He won't be getting out anytime soon though"

"Okay" I said. I knew that answer was most likely coming. It's only been around a week since the intervention our family had to hold for my dad's drinking problem. It's always been there but ever since he started getting writer's block he would get drunk in hopes of finding ideas. The sad part was that it did give him ideas. Each night he would down 5-6 bottles of beer and then type all night long. Naomi thought enough was enough after he decided to go out drinking and didn't return until two days later.

"I have to go" Naomi said after a long pause of me thinking "Remeber stay focused in school and don't go looking for Gabriel. Remember it was his choice to leave this family and that includes you"

With that, she hung up. Leaving me to my dorm room, alone.

Ha okay, not that big of a chapter. But at least I decided to continue with this book which is more than what I can usually say.
