At first I was going to pull back but a part of me didn't want too. A part of me liked the kiss, so I kissed back. Not even a 2 minutes later, the closet door burst open and Sally stood on the other side of the doorway. Jeff and I break away from the kiss, both of us breathing heavily.
" I found you two. I saw Jeffy first so, Jeffy you have to go and count." She said as if she had not just witnessed me and Jeff kissing. I then realized, we were in a dark closet the most she probably saw was our hair and legs. Thank goodness to that. I look at Jeff and smile.
" Go and count Jeffy." I say teasingly, gently flicking his nose. He looks at me with a playful smile playing on his lips. We walk out of the closet and head for the bedroom door. We all exit Jeff's room and as Jeff is walking past me I hear him whisper quietly enough to where Sally couldn't hear.
" Were not done, princess." I blush at the nickname and he walks downstairs. Sally pulls my hand to get my attention. I look down at her and kneel down to her height.
" I have a good place where we could hide. Trust me he will never be able to find us." She said in a excited tone. She starts pulling me in the direction of a bathroom, I didn't bother asking questions and she pulls me to the bathroom. We enter the bathroom and she wastes no time.
" In the closet there are shelves with towels in them. Remove the towels and push yourself as far back as possible, then put the towels back how they were in front of you. The shelves go far enough back for you to fit. We have to move quickly, quietly and we have to do this in the dark so he doesn't know were in the bathroom." She explains. I nod towards her and walk further in the bathroom, to the closet. I turn on the light and help her in her hiding spot first, then I turned off the light and hide myself too. It was a little difficult but I did it somehow. While I was putting the towles back in front of me I hear Jeff's voice from downstairs.
" READY OR NOT HERE I COME!" He yelled.
" BE QUIET! I HAVE A HEADACHE! JEEZ!" I hear another voice yell from the floor below us.
" SORRY EJ!" I hear Jeff's voice yell again.
" YOU BETTER BE!" The voice comes again. I giggle from the yelling conversation they were having, to me it was amusing. I hear Sally hush me as we both hear Jeff's footsteps grow louder and louder as he gets closer and closer, walking up the stairs. I quickly quit my giggling and listen carefully to where Jeff was.
" Come out, come out wherever you are. I know you are up here." Jeff's voice was really close this time. I hear Sally gasp from her hiding spot, she must have also been confused how Jeff moved so quickly while being so quiet. I think Jeff must have heard her gasp because I heard him getting closer and closer to the bathroom in which we were both in. My muscles stiffen when I hear the bathroom door creak open and he turns on the light. I could hear my heartbeat in my ears, it felt like it was going a mile a minute.
I hear Jeff move around in the bathroom, his footsteps slapping on the tile floor making the sound echo around the small bathroom. I hear the shower curtains being moved to one side of the shower rod, then I hear the doors to the cabinets under the sink being opened. Then the sound that scared me the most came, the door to the closet opened and I heard shuffling below me. Just when I thought he was about to give up and go look somewhere else, I hear Sally give a tiny sneeze. My eyes widen, I know for sure that he was going to find us now. I hear shuffling above me now and then I hear something that answered all my questions.
" Found you Sal." I hear Jeff's voice say. I then hear Sally groan.
" Dang it, well it took you long enough that's for sure." She said. I hear her jump down to the floor.
" Do you know where Layla is?" Jeff asks Sally, probably hoping she'll give my hiding spot out. But there is one problem with that.
" Who's Lalay?"
She doesn't know my name. Ha!
" You know the girl who was hiding with you." Jeff says. Dang it. Then I hear Sally give out a long oh and I know she knows who he is talking about.
" You mean her." She says in realization. " I don't know, she hid me first and then went and hide for herself so I don't know where she's hiding." She say in a smug tone of voice. I feel proud knowing I made a little friend who won't rat me out, but all those thoughts died when I heard.
" If you tell me where she is I will give you ice cream after dinner, how does that sound?" Jeff asks.
THAT JERK IS TRYING TO BRIDE HER TO TELL HIM WHERE I'M HIDING!!!
I swear Ima.... My thoughts were interrupted when I was ripped out of my hiding place. I scream and flail around trying to get out of Jeff's grasp, but it was no use. I glare at Sally for giving away my hiding spot, but I know I can't be mad at her forever, it was just a game after all.
" What?, you can't argue with ice cream." She said in a duh tone, turning away skipping down the hallway. I glare at her back while she skips down the hall. Ugh. I struggle to get out of Jeff's grip. I look at him and put a scowl on my face, he just looked back at me with a smug look. Ugh he is so annoying, but cute at the same time. NO! Layla he is mean. I look away and fold my arms across my chest.
" Oh, come on doll, don't be like that." Jeff says resting his chin on my shoulder. It takes everything in me not to smile. I turn my head away from him, I was angry at him and I had to stick to that. But at the same time it was so hard and I don't know why it was.
" PRINCESS! Come on." Jeff begged, sticking out his bottom lip out. But I was not having it, he cheated. It's my turn for payback. I smile evilly in my head and start to drapht out a plan.
I feel Jeff's grip loosen and I take my chance to break free. Once I'm out of his grip, I walk out of the bathroom without a second glance towards him. I could literally hear his heart break as I walk away and honestly I don't want that but revenge tastes sweet when it goes well, and in order for it to go well I had to stick to my plan like glue. I walk downstairs and I almost fall down the stairs when I see at least 5 or 6 more people in the living room. I didn't know anyone else was hear other than Sally, Ben, Jeff, EJ,and me. 4 of the people in the room I had no idea who they were.
They all were scary and had blood covering their clothes, except one person. Well I don't really think he is a person. He was the tallest in the room and he had no face, just a white head. He was dressed in a tux and fancy shoes. Even though he didn't have a face, he still managed to talk to the people around him. His voice was deep. The people I didn't know were all boys, but Sally was in the room. The only two I recognized in the living room were Sally and Ben. I walk the rest of the way down the stairs, trying so hard not to slip and fall, because I was so nervous that I was shaking very violently.
But that didn't last very long. I whip my head around when I hear a bark come from behind me. I scream when I see a dog who had the widest smile I have ever seen on any human. The dog runs down the stairs and instead of running on the left side of me, he had to go right through my legs like I wasn't there. I fall the rest of way down the stairs and cry out in pain when I land on my arm. When I finally reach the bottom of the stairs, I was so dizzy and my whole body hurt to make any movements. I groan in pain and open my eyes to see some familiar but mostly unknown faces surrounding me.
" BAD DOG!" I hear Jeff's voice ring out in the silent room. I hear a whine, which I assume came from the dog. I close my eyes again because the light in the room increased the headache I had gotten from the fall.
