The world is going to end. Humans have destroyed our planet. Our species is going to die. The breathable air is gone. Or, it will be, in about 10 minutes. I am typing this message now to warn those of the past. If I am right, the prototype time machine will work. I am sending this message to the date: September 3, 2010. Hoping my ancestor will receive it. If the prototype works. If it works. If you get this, you need to - to - the air. It's going. Need - to - help. Save - the - planet now.

Kasey pushed herself away from the computer.

"HEY ALICE!" she screamed. She heard her sister thumping up the steps to their room.

"WADDAYA WANT?" Alice shouted in her ear. Kasey clapped her hand up to it.

"Jeez, Al, not so loud. Now read this" she said, and she opened the email again. Alice crouched next to the computer. She read the email quickly, and Kasey watched her face.

"Kasey, this is a prank. You should tell Mom" Alice proclaimed. Kasey hugged her knees to her chest.

"What if it's real though?" she asked. Alice sighed.

"It isn't" she said, and she stalked out of the room.
