My eyes flutter open and feel the warmth of the soft meadow grass. I lift my heavy head up and look around. The sky was gray, like it was just about to rain. I heard the gentle sound of the trees blowing in the wind. I stand up un-steadily and almost fall.  I hold my hand up in front of me, it's trembling like crazy. I take a deep breath and walk over to the creek. I see the wooden board we use as a bridge connecting one side of the creek to the other.

I stumble over to the creek, thirsty for water, my throat gasping for air. I cup my hands and scoop up the water and quickly drink it before my lungs give out. I swallow it quickly ready for more, when I realize something. The water has an almost metallic, warm, taste. I look my hands, they're stained a rusty red. I crawl quickly to the river shaking even more violently. I splash the water onto my arm and come millimeters away from the water. I look at my arm and see blood trickling down.

The river is flowing with blood.

Stumbling,  backing up violently, I feel my heart thumping so hard it feels like it's punching my chest. My eyes are glued to the river. Without thinking, I run across the wooden board looking for help. I see the railroad track and the woods after it, but I know that after the woods is a community hospital.

My lungs are vigorously gasping, gagging, and wheezing, desperate for air. I ignore it though and sprint as fast as I can over the railroad track. While I'm in the middle of the track I see a blinking yellow light through the gray sky. It catches my eye and I freeze, petrified. Seconds later, I see the yellow light is apart of the train coming into view. My eyes grow wide and I jerk forward only to find that my feet won't move. I see the train coming closer and closer, I'm wiggling my feet like mad hoping that it'll set them free. And in my last dying breath I see Will driving the train.

---

I jerk up wide awake, my lungs working extra hard to bring me air. I feel the cold sweat on my body, my heart beating as fast as light itself. The dream all felt so real, the smell of the blood, the desperation I had, I swore it was real. I slowly close my eyes, and open them again cautiously, making sure that this is real.

I look around me trying to discover where I was. I was in alone in a hospital room. I saw the glass windows, and the pale blue walls. But why was I here? I thought, and thought, thinking back into my memory than I remember.

I was in Alaska.

I fell off a mountain.

I was saved.

Will was alive.

A smile creeps upon my face. Will was alive. I get up from the hospital bed and am startled by the cold linoleum floor touching my bare feet. I couldn't imagine what winter would be like if I thought this was cold.

I walk through the hospital in my gown, looking for someone. Even though it felt like my eyes were looking everywhere, I guess I wasn't looking in front of me. I run into a boy, and back back up feeling my now sore forehead. The boy looks back up at me.

"Oh Charlotte, you're awake!" I look  at the boy confused, wondering if I've met him before.

"Oh umm here are your clothes. There's a bathroom over...there." He points to left, still talking in a cheerful tone with a grin on his face.

I didn't want to come off as rude on my first impression, so I simply said "Thanks..." and was off

I came out of the stall fully dressed in what I was wearing before. I put up a messy bun, because there was still dirt in my hair from my little...incident.

I walked out of the stall, Lewis was waiting for me.

"Hey!" I said cheerfully. Things were finally starting to look up. Will was alive, which meant I could probably go back home. I could get away from the isolation, freezing temperatures, and new people.
