Summerview Prep is a place for kids whose parents don't want them anymore, who've been abandoned, the ones who've lost everything like me. There are a few ups and down here at the school, but I don't mind. The dorms we live in of course are separated into Boys and Girls. My dorm is shared with two other guys. The Headmisstress, well, no one really sees her except for Patch.
Patch is a doctor at the school, he originally has a free clinic in West Virginia, but spends his time here. Patch uses humour to heal his patients because laughter can cure things unlike medicine can't.
You guys might probably wondering how do I go without talking when you're surrounded with other people. It's quite easy since I've done it for did years and the fact that I just do my work then walk out the classroom like nothing happened. The teachers don't mind, I mean at least I have good grades. Normally I'm either on the roof of the school, somewhere in a tree or in the forest which I have to get to by jumping the fence, which isn't really hard when you're height is 5'11". In the forest I'll just roam around, look at the plants, sit by the waterfalls, things like that. I search for animals too, I love animals. My favorite animal is a wolf. Summerview isn't perfect, nothing really is, but I wouldn't mind calling this place home. I mean it's the only way to express myself, even if I don't speak.
The kids here though aren't as bad others say they are. I mean there's kids that are kind, nice and sweet, but were dropped off here for either being neglected or unwanted. Then there's the kids that act like delinquents. Always causing trouble that were sent here because they were uncontrollable or just unwanted by their parents.
Then there's me, the boy who lived.
