This story wasn't suggested by anyone, I just had the idea and thought it was cute :)
♡
Your eyes slowly opened - every appearing blurry and impossible to make out clearly. You tried to remember what had happened but were struggling. Your head felt like it had been struck by a hammer, thumping and pounding still.
I was practicing, you remembered suddenly. Yes, I was dancing. You were practicing in front of the mirror, finding flaws in every single move you made. You couldn't help it.
Soon in JYP, they were having a dance competition and it was your chance to shine and show JYP that you were ready to be put into your group. For so long you had been a trainee and, no matter how hard you practice, it never seemed good enough.
There was always a critique of you to be found and it was beginning to drive you crazy. For the last week, you had been practicing harder than you ever had before. So much so that you had barely slept a wink.
You had tried a couple of times but you always got trapped up in your thoughts. You would begin to think through your dancing for the day, thinking of all the mistakes you had made, all the ways you could improve and every so often thinking of a new dance move you could do.
You became all figet-y as you worried that the dance moves wouldn't actually look good or worse yet that you would forget them. Then you would have to get up and practice some more, before you knew it you were wide awake again and busy practicing.
I must have passed out...
It wasn't the first time that had happened. Suddenly, things were becoming to come into focus a little better until you noticed a face hovering above yours. Who is that? You couldn't yet see clearly enough to make out who it was. Instead, you listened for the voice.
"Are you okay?" He kept asking in a soothe, relaxing voice. The panic in it was clear too and you felt bad for worrying them.
"Y-yeah," you tried to say out loud, falling over your words. You throat was hoarse and sore, making it harder to get the words out.
The half clear face disappeared for a moment, and you tried to get up into a sitting position against the wall. Your head was still pounding but your sight had been become clear again.
The boy reappeared with a bottle of water, handing it to you. "Here you go."
"Thank you." He's so nice...and cute!
He sat down beside you as you drank down some water, feeling relieved to have it soothe your sore throat. You felt terrible, like you couldn't stand or else you would collapse again. Your eyes were heavy, as was the rest of you actually.
"How are you feeling?"
"Better. Just a little...light headed."
"What's your name? I'm Seungmin."
Seungmin...I like that.
"Nice to meet you, Seungmin. I'm Y/N."
"That's a beautiful name." You couldn't help but blush a little, looking down at your hands for a distraction. "If you ask me, Y/N, you've been overworking yourself."
You raised an eyebrow at him, "How do you know I've been overworking?"
"Ah," He said, letting out a nervous laugh. You noticed that his cheeks began to blush slightly, which made you smile too. "I guess I've been...observing you."
"Observing?"
"I was walking past this room when I noticed you dancing. You were so good, I couldn't believe it! Whenever I came past, I'd be sure to look in on you. Sorry if that sounds odd."
"It doesn't sound odd at all...in fact, I'm flattered that you liked my dancing that much."
He sighed lightly. "Every time I walk past, I see you here. Do you ever leave?"
"To shower and get food, sometimes."
"What about sleep?"
"I can't sleep. I just can't keep my mind still, I start thinking about my dancing and how I can improve. I've became a little bit of an insomniac."
He seemed to be thinking for a moment before seeming to come to a conclusion. "Sometimes, I listen to music to calm myself."
"That doesn't tend to work for me. My taste in music is too energetic."
"Just listen to calmer music then."
You sighed. "It's just...boring. I get bored and then start thinking of stuff to distract myself from my boredom. Then I don't sleep."
"Boring!" He scoffed. "I love calm music."
"Like what?"
Then, unexpectedly, he began to softly sing to you. You had never heard this song before and you assumed that if you heard the original, you would just become bored, but hearing him sing it, you felt instantly relaxed.
His voice Is so beautiful...
Your eyes suddenly felt too heavy to bare, until they were shutting without you even meaning to. He stopped singing and your eyes fluttered back open.
"Keep singing."
He laughed nervously. "You liked my singing?"
"Are you kidding me? It was so...beautiful and...soothing!" You said. You couldn't believe that he even had to ask you that. "I actually was beginning to feel drowsy."
"If it would help you sleep," He said, then paused for a moment.
After that short pause, he continued with his song and your eyes went back to being too heavy to force open. You leaned your head against him shoulder, feeling his arm wrapped around your shoulder to further support you.
Finally, after a week of almost no sleep, you were beginning to fall into a slumber. Right before you did, you felt him plant a soft kiss on your forehead and whisper goodnight to you.
♡
So I hope you liked it! This was the first story that's just my idea, rather than a suggested one. Basically, I had a free period but no homework and I really didn't want to study so I wrote this. I was trying to be careful so that nobody would see my screen lol be a bit awkward if someone noticed me writing one shots instead of studying!
It was a bit shorter than the rest but I think it's cute the way it is!
Let me know what you thought, it would really mean a lot to me. I'm working really hard on these + I'd love feedback.
