loud screeching fills the once quiet bedroom, the light from the hallway, creeping inside. johnny jolts awake immediately, not having enough time to process what's going on before he's being ambushed.

"wake up! wake up!" an eager voice yells.

mackenzie -confused as to what's happening - opens her tired eyes, her smile making its first appearance of the day when she catches a glimpse of her eldest son jumping on top of her husband.

" parker please be careful!" mackenzie speaks, her voice firm yet playful.

the 11 year old stops, laughing as johnny groans in mild pain. the door opens wider and in comes johnny and mackenzies other son, jack, carrying a nerf gun in his arms.

"say hello to my little friend" he says, doing his best 'gangster' impression. he's pretty good at it, for a 9 year old.

johnny glances over at mackenzie who's already giving him a stern look. he knows why and he also knows that if he doesn't move fast, she'll kick his ass for letting their underaged child watch scarface.

the father of three wraps an arm around an unexpected parker, carrying the boy over one of his shoulders. johnny reaches out for jack, succeeding in throwing him over his other shoulder. johnny stops in the doorway, turning to look at mackenzie.

"let's go open the presents shall we?" he smiles smugly before marching down the hallway with his two sons, laughing their heads off, probably waking up the rest of the neighbourhood.

taking a moment to be thankful for for her life, mackenzie smiles up at the ceiling stupidly, shaking her head as she slides out of bed, her feet slipping into her comfy slippers.

she reaches for her christmas robe, putting it on and wrapping it around her nicely. she can't help but stare at the gold band on her ring finger. seeing the words, "i love you" engraved on it will always make her smile.

"morning mommy" a tired voice yawns.

startled by the presence of her 5 year old daughter olivia, mackenzie jumps a little, lifting her head to look at the sleepy girl who rubs her eyes, her stuffed penguin tucked safely in between her arm.

"good morning baby, shall we go join your brothers and daddy downstairs and see if santa has come?" mackenzie suggests, leaning down to pick up her youngest child.

excited, the -now wide awake- girl nods, a cheeky smile on her tanned face as she sits on her moms hip, her tiny arms wrapped firmly around mackenzies neck.

johnny and mackenzie's kids are beautiful as could be expected. the two boys got mackenzie's dark brown eyes and chestnut hair. olivia on the other hand, got johnny's gorgeous green eyes hence why she's named olivia. her hair is a nice sandy blonde color and it's really long. all three of their kids have the best relationship they could have ever hoped for. parker and jake are amazing big brothers and are both very protective of  their little sister. jake and olivia are often found by their parents, reading in the tree house out in the back yard and it was only last month when parker taught both of his younger siblings how to ride their bikes. jake was always scared to learn but parker was a great teacher.

"merry christmas daddy!" olivia shouts as she and mackenzie descend the staircase.

johnny stops organising the presents with his sons in order to say good morning to his little girl.

"merry christmas my little olive" he smiles brightly, taking her out of mackenzie's arms and squeezing her tight.

"okay we have to hurry and open all these presents before uncle hayden gets here" jake announces, picking up one of the gifts that johnny had put on his pile.
