"Caius dear, can you please pass by old Angie's and get me that walking stick we saw yesterday?, the pink one with that white stuff on top" I asked my son, I knew I wouldn't have much time left, I didn't want him to see his own mother and last family member die before his eyes. I made the foolish choice of accidentally eating some transparent thing that one of those humans dropped in the water, don't they know that us fish might eat it by accident, aren't they supposed to be the smarter ones? Ever since I have been feeling very ill and I know that I am going to die soon, the same thing happened to my sister, she ate something that the humans dropped and in her last moments she sobbed about how she should have been more careful but my mother simply replied with "It's not your fault" and then she met her end.

"Yes mommy, oh and... are you ok? You seem a bit, i don't know, off?" Caius inquired. "Oh yes, I am just fine I just feel a bit tired" I replied with a weak but genuine smile.

When the door fell closed I collapsed onto the floor, I felt my head throb and my stomach ache. I lifted my hand to my mouth as I started coughing vigorously, when I removed my hand there was the one thing I dreaded to see, blood.

Suddenly the door opened and I heard Caius's voice "Oh, and mommy I forgot to tell you that I love you" he sang, but his joiced expression and tone fell once he saw the state I was in, on the floor covered in my own blood.

"Mommy are you ok?!" he quaked "Please come with me, we need to go to the hospital... and then you are going to be ok" he cried. "Oh god if I would have taken better care of you this wouldn't have happened, this is all my fault"

"Please it's too late for me, but always remember this: it is not your fault, it is the earth of the humans they are in charge of taking care of it because hopefully they know that it is not only their world and that other living thing live here and have lives just like them and they are risking not only our life but theirs as well so if they don't change immediately their habits they will be in the same position you are in right now, on their knees sobbing for a second chance and saying that it is their fault and only in that case will it be true because it is their fault." I spoke. I closed my eyes at the sound of Caius crying and hoped that he understood what I said. With those last hopes and words I left this world hopefully having made a difference and that my death is not just another 'accident' in the grand scheme of things.
