"i know, i know," simon responded blankly, as though he had answered unconsciously.

tears welled up in my eyes.

"i longer see the red," the same blank voice told me.

"h-how? how did you do it?" i knew i wasn't speaking to simon anymore.

"you must learn to love, ****. leave this man be," it whispered.

"never!" it called in my voice.

"david?" simon blinked, my face still in his hand.

"simon," i smiled weakly.

"you're bleeding!" he murmured worriedly.

he does not remember.

but he still holds me tenderly.

"i will be just fine, simon," i lied again.

his thumb swiped my lips again.

i grabbed the collar of his shirt and roughly pulled him closer.

my white knuckles gripped his collar tightly as our lips collided.

and with one last scream of despair, the red expelled into the brillant colours that scorned the red.
