Chapter 1 Drew's POV

Drew woke up at 5:45, to the sound of her alarm. Dang, it was early. She hopped out of bed, and ran to her bathroom.

"Crapdoodle," she said as she got in the shower, and felt the burning water on her bare skin.

After her shower, she threw on her first day of school outfit. It was a dress with a jean top, and a purple, green, blue, and black checkered skirt. After that, she put on a little bit of gold eyeliner, and a touch of mascara to accent her bright blue eyes.

"DREW! GET DOWN HERE! YOU HAVE TO LEAVE SOON!" Drew's mom called from downstairs.

Drew finished up by straightening her long blonde hair, and bounded downstairs.

"Morning daddy," Drew said to her father as she passed him while walking to the kitchen.

"Morning hon," he responded.

"Morning broski, brosif, bromie homie," Drew said teasingly at her 8 year old brother Ian.

"Hey," he said in a non amused tone.

Drew laughed while grabbing herself an apple in the kitchen for breakfast. She grabbed a knife and started cutting the apple.

"Dang braces," she said as she put the small pieces of apple into her metal mouth.

After Drew finished up eating, she grabbed her backpack, kissed everyone goodbye, and then jumped into her mom's car.

Drew's mom started the car, and they were off. Drew took out her phone and checked Instagram. She saw pictures of beautiful girls.

"Dang. I wished I looked like them," Drew said as she scrolled down, and saw pictures of her best friends Kayla, Kynzie, and Helen.

"Honey, you're beautiful, just the way you are," her mom said.

"Mom... Bruno Mars' songs do not help me feel better."

"Haha, sorry," Drew's mom said as she pulled up to she school. Drew threw her backpack over her shoulder, kissed her mom goodbye, hopped out of the car, and started walking into school.

"DREWWW," yelled people from behind her.

Drew turned around and saw her best friends, Kynzie,Kayla, and Helen.

"GUYS!" Drew yelled back, while running towards them. The five girls ended up in a giant group hug.

They all started walking inside. They saw signs pointing to the gym, so that's where they headed.

"Woah. Look at Bennett," Helen said as she looked at the boy she liked.

The other four girls laughed and rolled their eyes. Just then, Drew felt a tapping on her left shoulder. She turned around and saw her three best guy friends, David, Tyler, and Hunter.

"HEY," Drew yelled, as she embraced them. She would never say it out loud, but David gave the best hugs.

"I missed you guys so much!" Drew said.

"We missed you too!" Tyler and Hunter said in unison.

"Yeah, yeah. I guess I missed you too, Blondie," David said sarcastically.

"Oh wow. Thanks David," Drew said rolling her eyes.

"Psssstttt Drew," Kynzie said nudging Drew.

Drew followed her gaze, and saw that Casey Hudson was staring straight at her. Drew had a HUGE crush on Casey. He was tall, with shaggy brown hair, green eyes, and a cute goofy smile.

"Ooooohhhhhh," David said, looking at Casey. Casey was David's best friend.

"Do not," Drew said as David started walking over to Casey.

"HEY CASE," David yelled.

"Dang flabbit Miley," Drew said as she walked away from David, and say on the bleachers in the gym.

"Hey Drew," said a voice from the left of her.

"Oh, hey Casey. What's up?" Drew said, as she glared at her best friend David, who had brought his best friend over to her. David was smirking, and he gave her a wink.

"This is going to be a long year," Drew mumbled as she prepared for 9th grade orientation day.
