Chapter 11

After finishing breakfast you and Len decided to go pick up a few groceries. The drive was mundane, but it was wonderful at the same time. Len was driving, one hand on your thigh, the other on the wheel. You smiled watching all the houses as you passed by, imagining the people who inhabited each home. It was peaceful. You were so busy people watching that you almost didn't even notice one of your favorite songs come on.

You quickly reached for the stereo to turn it up as loud as you could. The quick movement made him flinch, but he quickly relaxed and started to hum along with the song

Len braced himself for the chorus, knowing how much you loved to belt that part. And oh boy was he right, you took a deep breath and started singing so loud the penguins in Antarctica could hear you.

Len couldn't help but smile at you antics. Watching you pour out your heart into this song and attempt to dance was just so hilarious. He just couldn't help but fall in love with you a little more.
You noticed Len's quick gaze on you and you started singing and making up goofy dances. He couldn't help but laugh and join in on the singing.

Soon enough you were at your local grocery store. You almost didn't even want to leave the car. You didn't want this moment to end. It was hard to explain, but by leaving the car you felt like you were leaving a different world behind, a nice, happy, safe world where you and Len could always be together.

Unfortunately, it was too soon for you to know that you were right.

A/N

Wowza it's been awhile. But a lot has changed since I last decided to update like 40 years ago. I've moved, I was in two plays and a musical, and I'm about to be auditioning for another one, I can drive and it's just crazy going back through the story just to see how much I've changed throughout the years.
Also I hoped you like the foreshadowing I did with one of my all time favorite songs. I swear if you haven't heard of Kim Petras yet, you seriously need to look her up.
