It was a cold foggy morning upon the green fields of the former Roman Provence of Britannia, two Generals met standing to the west was the Roman commander Quirinus and to the east stood Eliwlod leader of the rebellion. Both men barked at their interpreters dictating terms to each other of which they knew the other would never except.

Quirinus demanded that the Rebellion be stopped and that all those involved will be put to death if they refuse. He would not allow Roman law to be trampled upon or have the might of Romes hold over Britannia be questioned anymore by those who did not appreciate the peace the Empire had brought to this barbaric land for hundreds of years.

Eliwlod scoffed at Quirinus's remark "Not you nor Rome hold power over these lands or it's people. You will surrender yourself and your legions to me or I will push you back into the sea as our ancestors did to Ceasear the first time he sort to grace my people with his presence"

The interpreters relayed their messages to the other before a decision was reached, It would be this battle that would decide once and for all who shall rule these lands. The two commanders left that day each returning to their armies to prepare them for the imminent battle.

An hour passed and from the lingering fog emerged the Eliwold's rebel army though they lacked the discipline of the three legions that they faced they made up for it with their numbers. The men hurled insults at the legionaries telling them that their empire had fallen and that none would come to save them. The three legions stood firm taking up their positions ready to meet the rebels attack. Horsemen charged from the flanks of the rebel force, they harassed the legions using their lack of horses to their advantage while killing or chasing away what little cavalry the Romans had. Each attempt made by the legions to protect their cavalry was stopped by the overwhelming horsemen of the rebels.

Faced with little choice Quirinus was forced to order his men the charge forwards, to minimize the effectiveness of the rebels horsemen the legions charged forward in three tightly packed columns towards the rebel force. Quirinus hoped that his well-disciplined men would win him the day in an all-out brawl. Seeing the charging legions Eliwlod ordered his men to move back into the fog. Seeing the rebels flee Quirinus lead the charge to peruse the rebels hoping to finally end this rebellion with what looked to be a quick but soon to be a decisive victory.

Upon charging into the fog the legions found themselves falling to dozens of ditches dug by the rebels many where willed with sharpened spikes impaling men who fell in. From the Fog Legionaries would be dragged in or killed without seeing their killer. After an hour of fighting shadows in the mist, the fog finally cleared revealing that the legions had been surrounded many found that the shadows they slashed at where their own men. A desperate last defense was held by the legions but they each soon fell victim to the same fate. Openings in the rebels lines where made multiple times but each time the Rebels horsemen cut down each man. Each break out was allowed by Eliwlod he knew that his men couldn't hope to succeed against the legions even with his men surrounding them so allowing groups of up to one hundred men to escape only to be cut down by his horsemen. The Romans were slaughtered to the man, Quirinius's body was pulled from one of the ditches and was paraded to those who still supported Rome.

As the body of Quirinius was paraded across Britannia until it had rotted away, the message that Eliwlod sort to send had been excepted by the people. From this day onwards there would be no Rome to be called master only the people of Britannia.
