I fly through the crystal clear water, eyes focused on the bottom of the pool. Every sense is heightened from the adrenaline coursing through my body, intensifying my surroundings: the slight chill of the liquid surrounding me, the sound of air rushing into my lungs as I take gulping breaths, the tightness of my swim cap and goggles around my head. I feel more alive now than I ever have been in my entire life, especially when I push through that final stretch, touching the wall first and taking the gold. My breathing quickly slows, even though all the others around me still gasp for air. They are like those old computers that no one uses before, obsolete technology that stands in the way of the new and improved generation, my generation. I am stronger, faster, sleeker, cooler, more beautiful than they are. I am perfect.
