An irritating and piercing pain hit me like a bus as my eyes adjusted to the dark, dank room. The memories from last night flashed through my mind and I suddenly remembered why I was here.
"Oh cmon!" I exclaim tossing the damned phone back into my car. No internet in the middle of a creepy forest. The perfect horror movie plot. I tried calling Chris but the internet is shit. I just wanna be home all cozy watching Zombieland with him making supper.
Startling me, the sound of a stick snapping breaks the silence. I stare in the direction of the sound and find a light emitting from a building. No I won't do it. I won't go into the scary cabin in the middle of nowhere. A drop of water splashes on my puffy hair. Of course. Rain. I go to pull myself into my car but the door doesn't budge.
"Well guess who's a dumbass? Me!" I complain to the darkness. I turn towards the light in the forest. Sighing, I begin towards the light. I'm gonna die tonight, aren't I. The world around me becomes trees as I slowly make my way to the small cabin, jumping at every sound I hear.
Suddenly, I'm grabbed from behind and face a horrific sight. An elder woman with dark rotting skin, a small mess of grey hair and a dirty nightgown smiles at me with missing teeth. I don't have time to react when she hits me over the head with something. The world faded to black.I slowly sit up and feel the pulsing wound on my head. "Gah!" I suck air through my teeth. I've got quite a cut on my head but thank goodness it stopped bleed. The pillow is stained with blood. I've gotta get out of here. I find a flashlight on the table next to me and head towards the door. Suddenly, I stub my toe on the table next to me, causing a vase to fall and brake. Oh crap oh crap. Her loud foot steps race up the stairs and I pull myself into a rusty locker on my left. She enters the room.
"Want to play hide and seek with Granny?" She croaks, draping something heavy on the ground. My heart beats fast. What the hell is this place?! Once I here her downstairs, I leave the dusty room into a hall, stepping over a bear trap. The place was dark and smelt of moth balls. Downstairs, the front door was locked. Maybe there's some keys I can use. To the right , there's a bathroom. Quickly, I check it but find nothing but a bloody bathtub.
Thankfully, the stairs didn't creak as I walked down them. I examine the locked door and figure out that I need a key for the padlock, something to break the board off, and some other key. It's okay, Lucca. You can do this. Says Chris's voice in my head. I will survive.
