Chapter One

In the Seireitei

All the captains, lieutenants and squad members where assembled together except for captain Kuchiki. The captain of squad 6 was now, Renji Abarai.  Everyone was muttering amongst themselves. Head captain Yamamoto banged his staff on the floor to get everyone's attention.

"As you all know we have been searching for captain Kuchiki for five years now and we have not received any leads. I think you all agree if I would proclaim captain Kuchiki dead." .

The hall was dead silent as they knew they could not protest. There has been no sighting of Byakuya Kuchiki whatsoever. Everyone was losing hope. All of a sudden the doors open. A member of the Kuchiki council walks in.

" What are doing here council man? " questioned Genryusai. " I have come at the request of the rest of the council. I was told to come tell Rukia that she is no longer a member of the Kuchiki clan. " answered the man. " What?! "exclaimed everyone. They all started protesting saying that the council could not do such a thing.  "Silence!" exclaimed the Head Captain. " Rukia Kuchiki was adopted into the Kuchiki clan by your clan head Byakuya Kuchiki. How can she be removed from the clan? I know for a fact that once a clan head is dead he's previous declarations can not be removed." said Yamamoto. "Yes, that would have been the case if Byakuya was actually dead." replied the man. " What do you mean by if he was actually dead?" asked Ichigo.

"Every council of a noble family has a special gift. We have the ability to sense when a heir is about to be born. Four years ago on the 28 of November we sensed the birth of a new heir and about a month ago we sensed a baby on the way. This proves that Byakuya is alive and had decided to not come home. By refusing to come back and resume all his responsibilities, he has given up his position as clan head therefore we can change all rules and decisions he has made."

Everyone present was speechless. They could not believe what the man was saying. The stotic captain who always obeyed the law had abandoned the soul society, now that didn't sound like Byakuya Kuchiki.

"I don't believe you." said Renji. "It's true. My family's council also have the gift." said Yoruichi. "Well then I'll be taking my leave. Rukia please come by to collect all your belongings from the Kuchiki minor this afternoon." said the council man. "Yes sir." replied Rukia with sadness and disbelief in her voice.

After the council man was gone, everyone stood for awhile thinking. They really could not believe it. It was very hard to believe that Byakuya left the soul society on his own free will.

"The information that we have just received was very disturbing news however we can not give up now that we know he is alive. Each time you have a mission outside the soul society keep an eye out for captain Kuchiki. Dismissed! " said Yamamoto.

Every went out, each with different thoughts however their hope was restored. They knew Byakuya was alive and they would find him. No matter how hard it is. They would not give up. They would not rest until they found Byakuya. Each had a different reason but the main goal was to find captain Kuchiki.
