(5 years later, present time)
Jason's p.o.v
It's been a few months since I came back to Gotham. My meeting with Bruce was pretty eventful, I manage to get my hands on joker but of course being batman, he didn't fix his mistake. He still didn't want to kill him.
I fled the scene when the apartment exploded. Been laying low since. But during my time with Bruce, there was one person that I was hoping to see..(y/n)(l/n). She didn't join him to find me? That seemed strange to me. So during the few months I laid low, I decided to search for her. I looked high and low, even hacked into Wayne Corp to see if she started working there, like she always wanted to, but she wasn't there either. There didn't seem to be any trace of her. I didn't want to ask Bruce unless it was the last resort.
2 months into the search, I was ready to give up and fear the worst. I walked down the crowded streets of Gotham during the day. Where she and I used to hang out during our free time. I was contemplating going to see Dick or Babs, when I saw someone familiar on the a giant screen on a building in the heart of the city. It was a news channel featuring a woman with (H/c) hair and big (E/c) eyes. She was wearing a blue GCPD uniform. She was speaking on a podium, addressing at some sort of press conference.
"The GCPD will do all it can to protect gotham's citizens and we are happy to announce that crime rates have been going down at a steady pace recently..."
She had a wide smile plastered on her face and spoke with such familiar confidence. I gawked at the screen. Two teenagers stood next to me looking up at the screen too.
"Yo dude, who's she?"
"Don't you know? It's officer (y/n)(l/n)! The "Belle of GCPD", representative of GCPD. She's everywhere, like on the news or newspapers."
I grabbed the collar of one of the teens. "Where is this conference taking place?!" I asked.
"Hey! Chill man! It's at city hall! It's on the screen man!"
I let go of the kid and ran straight to city hall, how did I not see this? Maybe I should start paying attention to police activity on the news.
___________________________________________I arrived at city hall to be greeted by a crowd of press members crowded around the podium. Bright flashes went on and off at (y/n) as she gives her speech.
"...and that is all I have for today. Any questions please take it up to our beloved commissioner Gorden who will now say a few words." She gave a small bow and stepped off the podium.
She was getting away. I could not lose this chance. I followed the flow of the crowd and moved around towards the side where she was talking to some other officers.
"(Y/n)!!" I yelled over the noise.
She didn't hear me. I continued yelling but it was futile. I pushed my way out of the crowd just in time to see her walking away. I ran up to her and grab her arm.
She turned around sharply and looked at me with a surprised look on her face. She looked the more mature than she was 5 years ago but the gleam in her (e/c) eyes was still there, the same playfulness and intelligence in her eyes.
"(Y/n) it's me...its so good to see you again." Tears were almost forming in my eyes. I was so happy to see my best friend again.
"Um..im sorry but who are you?"
