Any relations to real people are pure coincidence XD (only not really because I told him I was doing it as a joke then it kinda happened so yeah)

John Casey was a normal man of 27 years old who lived in Kent, England. Nothing really stood out with him. He lived alone and kept to himself most of the time. During the day, he just laid in bed and watched television or playing video games - only getting up to make food. He occasionally talked to a friend in one of his games, but he mostly slept a lot. At night, John Casey worked driving trains. Real trains that transported real people - not the ones sat up around Christmas trees or in toy stores.

John finally gets the strength to pull himself out of bed and trudges his way into his kitchen, making a quick bacon sandwich before changing into his work clothes and heading out the door. His flat was on one of the top floors of the complex building. Normally, he took the stairs since the elevator had been broken the past few months but it looked like it had gotten fixed the night before. Stepping into the elevator, he felt a sense of dread as he watched the doors shut. He had this strange force inside of him telling him to get out as quickly as possible before it was too late. John, however, stubbornly stood in place as the elevator as the last little bit of the hall was shut off by the large metal doors.

John felt as if he was in the elevator for hours. He glanced at his phone to check the time. He left at about 21:30 and it was now 21:32. It must have just been a while since he's been in an elevator. The elevator stopped finally. The doors opened into a long dark corridor. He looked at the elevator buttons, noticing the basement button had been pushed. "How peculiar," he said out loud. "I was sure I pushed the lobby button." He pushed the lobby button to go back up, but the doors did not close. With a sigh, he pulled up the torch app on his phone, turning it on to illuminate the area.

The hall was longer than his light would reach. He started forward when he noticed a sign that read stairs, pointing towards the darkness. He moved slowly, scanning the walls for a light switch or anything to help him more clearly. To his disappointment, he did not find a single light down the hallway. He continued walking, checking every few doors, only finding them locked. The basement looked like no one had been down there in a long time. He observed many bugs, rats, and mold as he looked for the stairs. Decaying laundry laid in some old carts off to the sides of the hall and there was a stale scent in the air.

Finally, John came to the end of the hall. A door stood tall with a flickering red EXIT sign hanging crooked above. John reached forward, grabbing the handle when he heard a growling noise from down the hall. He turned to the mutilated blob of what had once may have been a dog. It had wads of hair missing from its body and had long, jagged teeth that looked sharp as razors. Its eyes were nothing more than bleeding sockets in its head. Half of its flesh was decaying and its joints stuck out at weird angles.

John stared with his blue eyes wide. He was frozen at the sight of this creature. His hand gripped the handle of the door tightly, his feet stuck in place. The two stood like this for a moment, John staring as the beast growled at him. John slowly began to turn the handle of the door. Suddenly, the creature began running towards him. That was enough for John to find his strength, flying open the door to the stairs and slamming it shut when he made it to the other side. The demented dog slammed against the door, snarling through the small window. John jumped back quickly to regain his posture. He glanced at his phone. It was now at 15%. He needed to find another source soon before his phone died.

As he approached another floor, he notices a light flickering through the window of the door leading to the first floor. He peered through it the small window, worried to open it. Maybe there would be another of that weird dog? He saw a few lights were on, but two (at least from what he could see) were flickering. John slowly opened the door to what he assumed was the lobby. As he peered into the room, he noticed that this room was not a part of his complex building. He had never seen this room in his entire lifetime. It almost looked like a hospital waiting room. There was chairs set off to one side and a large desk on the other.
