John's POV
The noodles were getting colder by every second while I waited for him. I looked out of the window to see a blizzard outside of our tiny apartment in New York City, and started to get seriously worried. Where was he? He should've been home half an hour ago. I tried calling him 13 times but he never answered, which made me even more worried. Laf and Herc didn't know where he was either, and Burr said he wasn't at the office. I heard the bell ring and I went to open the door, only to see my neighbor Peggy with a bag of chips in her hand. She was grinning and looked like she was about to make a joke before she looked at my face.
"Dude, have you been crying? Your face is completely red." She commented, making her way in as I closed the door behind her.
"I don't know what to do. Alex isn't home, even though he should've been half an hour ago, and nobody knows where he is. I'm scared he got into an accident or something." I ranted, as I sat down on the kitchen table opposite to Peggy.
"I'm sure he's fine. He probably just missed the bus or something, he'll be back soon. Besides, who would be the guy waving red roses outside your window?"
I ran over to where Peggy was looking and sure enough, Alex was there, grinning and shivering, holding a bouquet of red roses in his hand.
"Sorry, Love. I felt the urge to get you these. They were worth the cold."
I laughed and waved back, as I saw him smile wider and run upstairs.
What am I ever gonna do without him?
