Chapter Five
A minute after Aly and Amy left, Den was assisted now to her room. She was given her hotel key card but she just gave the woman on the desk a raised on her eyebrow.
"Did she not mentioned that I am to be assisted?"
The woman seemed to be startled by her actions. Ngunit hindi pa rin ata neto naiintindihan ang sinasabi nya at pilit na inaabot pa rin sa kanya ang susi ng kanyang kwarto.
"Did she not mentioned that I am to be assisted?" She asked again, sounded impatient.
"Pardon Maam?"
But she did not wait anymore at tumuloy na sa malapit na elevator. Naririnig nya pa ang pagtawag sa kanya ng babae.
"Maam, I'm sorry, but here's your room key." Habol sa kanya ng babae sabay abot ng card.
Den looked at the card then back at the woman.
"You will assist me. Take me to my room now." Den said in an autocratic way.
"Maam, if you want I can call our bellboy to assist you." The woman said trying to act professionally despite the attitude Den was showing to her.
"Didn't you hear what I said?" Den asked the woman. She was really tired and wanted a good sleep, ngunit napakahirap makipag-usap sa mga tao dito. "You are going to assist me."
"Very well Maam." The woman said rolling her eyes as they went to the nearest elevator.
As Den was about to enter the now opened elevator, a group of young people coming from behind pushed her, and made their way inside.
"Maam?" Tawag sa kanya ng babae na naghihintay na sa loob ng elevator.
"They are not allowed here. Please tell them to vacate and ride the next one." Of course, hindi nya nagustuhan ang inasal ng mga taong ngayon ay nasa loob na ng elevator. Bigla etong nagsitahimik at tiningnan sya ng masama.
Lumapit sa kanya ang babaeng halatang naiipit sa sitwasyon.
"Maam, please, they are also customers here. Please go inside and I will assist you in your room." She said in a low voice.
"All right then, just make sure they dont touch me." Den answered after considering the situation.
Alam nyang kanina pa sya pinagbubulungan at pinagtatawanan ng mga tao sa likod nya. Simula pa lang sa pagpasok nya ng elevator ay panay bungisngis na ang maririnig nya mula sa mga eto.
"Kala mo prinsesa kung makaasta, eh sa mas prinsesa pa ako kaya sa kanya. Paalisin pa ba naman tayo dito. Kala nya sya may-ari netong hotel." She heard from the short woman whispered to the bald man who was devouring her from head to toe.
"Gaga! Wag kang maingay, baka maheard tayo ni Sisa."
"Sisa?" Asked by the other guy on the left corner.
"Sisa dehins mo know? Si Sisang baliw, ano ka ba?" The bald man looked at her once more.
They snickered that made Den gritted her teeth.
They continued laughing behind her back until the elevator stopped and reached the 32nd floor.
The woman stepped outside. "Maam?" She called to her.
Nakahinga si Den nang maluwag pagkalabas nya ng elevator. Hindi nya maintindihan kung bakit sya tinatawag na Sisa ng mga iyon. Gayunpaman, taas noo syang sumunod sa babae patungo sa kanyang magiging kwarto.
