Y/N and David had met when they were young. Friends since middle school who followed the cliché and fell for each other during their freshman year. They said that they were forever but nobody believed them, especially David's dad. For some reason he always believed Y/N would end up leaving David broken. Y/N's best friend, Y/BF/N, always said he was just scared for David and David's future. Regardless of everyone's beliefs though, they believed in their relationship. It was them against the world.
When they got older they would escape away together and drive to the east side of town and just spend time together. Always the two of them for hours along with David filming the memories. Y/N was David's muse most of the time for footage, one of his favorites being her 16th birthday when she got her favorite blue corvette. He had saved up for two years for that for her, working side jobs after school and winning miniature film contests. She knew then in that moment that she was going to marry David one day.
A year later they turned 17 and the pressure of their futures were getting more real. Almost done with high school they had to start planning for college. The only thing they were sure of was that they would stay together regardless of whatever they faced. They continuously talked about their life in the future. Marriage, kids, the house they would have, and how happy they would be together.
In the blink of an eye they were 23. David graduated college with a degree in film production. He didn't know for sure where he wanted to go but he was sure he never wanted to put down a camera. During their senior year he had begun to upload videos on YouTube just as a hobby. He had a decent amount of subscribers for just his small collection of videos consisting of him, Y/N, and a few of their friends and family members, mainly their siblings. Y/N also hadn't found much of a passion other than photography. She got her associates degree in photography before she got a full time job taking pictures for the local school district while David worked for the local movie theater. They had a small one bedroom apartment, and plenty of bills to meet working their dead end nine to five jobs. They still always managed to make their weekly date nights to the east side, however. Still staying out for hours and talking about their dreams of a better life, riding around the backstreets in Y/N's blue corvette. It was on one of these nights, while Y/N was laying in David's arms on a blanket on the hood overlooking the city that he decided he wanted more. He wanted to give Y/N the life she deserved. Later that night they went home and after Y/N was fast asleep he filmed and edited a video. She got the notification for the upload while he was at work the next day and she was relaxing on her day off.
David Dobrik uploaded: This is it.
"Hey guys. So I know I never really make sit down and talk to you type videos but today I have something serious I want to talk about. Last night while I was with Y/N we were talking and something in me clicked. I don't want this life anymore. Now before you guys start freaking out, me and her are fine. I still love her with all of my being. Hell I love her so much it actually pushed me to do this. I want more for not just me but for her. I want to give her the life I used to promise to give her when we were younger. So guys, this is it. We're coming to Cali. I've been up all night since we got home filming this and making some calls and plans. I got our landlord to let us out of our lease. I lined up a place for us to stay until we manage to get our own place out there. I managed to get us a bit of money to hold us over until we can fully get jobs but guys I really want this to be my job. I LOVE making videos for you guys and its one of the best things in my life. I would love to do this every day for you and maybe eventually it can be. I'm going to try and upload a bit more and some different stuff and see where it goes but I also need you to help me out with this. Share things, show people videos, spread the word around about the Vlog Squad. Also just a PSA Y/N doesn't know about this until she sees this when it's uploaded so I might die, wish me luck." With that he laughs and covers the lens transitioning it to the 'like and subscribe' clip.
Y/N sits in shock at what she had just watched and looks at the clock. David gets home in just 20 minutes so she decides to just wait for him to get home before she asks him about the video.

David walks in the door hesitantly, scared of how Y/N's going to react having a gut feeling she's seen the video. He walks in to see her laying on the couch talking on the phone.
"Y/BF/N I have no idea what he's thinking!!!" She yells, not seeing him come in.
"Y/N. He loves you. He wants to give you the life you want. I know you and I know him. He literally does anything for you and for your happiness, but he also lives for his happiness. If he thinks you guys can make it out in Cali then I trust that he's really thought this through and he's doing this because he thinks it'll be good for you guys. I honestly think it's a great idea, there's a lot of opportunity out there. Just, hear him out and keep an open mind. It's you two forever remember?" She says through the speaker phone.
"Thanks Y/BF/N. You know me so well." I say, making Y/N jump.
"You're welcome David. Now go talk some sense into my girl. Bye Y/N, love ya." Y/BF/N says before hanging up. David slowly sits down on the ground next to where Y/N is laying and grabs her hand.
"I love you and I want you to have what you deserve. I want to be the one to give you that. I'd go to the end of the universe to do that for you and this is one way I can do it. We always talked about leaving this town. How there were bigger and better things out there and as long as we had each other we had all we needed. I know I say it all the time that I'm going to marry you and I'm serious about that. But I want to be able to be the husband you deserve me to be. You give so much for me, now I'm giving you something back. Come with me." He says slowly descending to a whisper but the end. Y/N sits up and pulls him in for a kiss.
"I'd follow you anywhere." She says after breaking away, and begins to smile. David pulls her into a hug and kisses her head.
"Good. Cause I wouldn't want to go without you. Also we leave in a week." He smiles down at her, pulling her into a kiss. She breaks after a minute and starts pulling him to the bedroom.
"Time to start packing." Y/N laughs, excited for the new chapter of their lives to start, just them against the world.
