"Boss, what is our plan?" Alistair said.
The boss took no mind to what Alistair was saying. The ravenette sighed. It was always like this in theur base. Nobody listened to him or took mind of what he was saying.

The only person that actually listened to him was Nalia. Nalia was like a mom to him. She raised him when his parents could not. And for that, he was very grateful.

Don't get him wrong. He was thankful for the boss too. The boss fed him well and clothed him. It's just that sometimes he wishes that the boss would talk to him.

As Alistair made his way down the stairs, Nalia greeted him with a smile. "Good morning, Alistair." Alistair returned the smile. "Good morning, Nalia."

Alistair was always so fond of Nalia's smile. It reminded him of happiness and warmth. No one could beat her smile, he was sure of it. "Nalia, I'm gonna go out to the market and buy some bread."

The woman nodded. "Just don't forget to wear your hoodie, Ali. The King's guards are on patrol at this time of the day." Alistair smiled and said, "Of course."

Out in the market

Alistair was always fascinated of the little trinkets the market sold. But there was something special about today. He felt like stealing. Nalia always told Ali to not steal unless needed or unless boss ordered.

But, being an assassin, he felt the urge to do so. Today's trinket was a little emerald ring. It was perfect for Nalia. There were 6 pairs so Alistair was sure nobody notoced if he would steal one.

The ravenette pretended to look at the rings. Then, when no one was looking, he snatched the ring out of it's place. Alistair put the ring in his pocket and casually strolled out of the shop without giving anybody suspicions.

Yes! He thought, Nalia would love this. After that, he went to the bakery to buy some bread. He bought the fluffiest and softest bread he could find. Its boss' and Nalia's favorite kind of bread.

When he arrived at the base there was somebody waiting for him at the front. It was boss. And he did not look happy. Alistair swallowed hard. He tried to think of whatever thing he did that was wrong.

Does he already know that I stole a ring?! No, that's not possible. I just stole it this morning. As Alistair tried to figure out what he did, boss said, "Don't worry, Ali! You didn't do anything wrong. I just want to talk. If I'm wrong, then my name's not Gunther!"

Hearing the boss say his name, the boy was relieved. The boss only said his own name out loud when he was telling the truth. "Okay Gunther, what are we gonna talk about?" The boy said, now curious.

"Before that, put the bread away in the kitchen, first."
