*Maggie POV*
It's been about two weeks since Nixx and the guys left, and with the chaos of One Direction out of my hair, I managed to clean my room, learn how to make cinnamon rolls, got my financial aid approved, and invited Maura over for dinner tonight to celebrate my cast coming of tommorrow, January 13. I also got the low-down on what gifts Louis got for his birthday from the fans. Maura was like my sereget mum since mine doesn't give a rat's bum about me. I was just about to leave to get some things for tonight, when I realised that I probably can't drive with a broken leg. Sighing, I called Ryan. "Hey girl, what up?!?" Ryan answered. "Are you with your friends? You never talk to me like that unless you're trying to be cool." I laughed. I heard a muffled voice on the other line. "Yeah, I'm with Gary. Is something wrong?" He asked, adding a short laugh. "I need a ride to the store. I'm making dinner for Maura and I and I can't drive." I plopped down on the couch, examining my cast. It was stark white, minus spots where Ryan, Nixx, and the guys have signed it. I turned my foot so I could see the heel, as Nixx told me someone wrote something there. The sound of my doorbell pulled me away from finding what lies under my heel. "Hold, on, Ry. Someone's at the door. It might be-" I pulled open the door to find Ryan there, with a taller figure that had shaggy auburn hair and the greenest eyes.
"Car's here." Gary grinned, his American accent in tow. "Gary! How was Maine? I missed you!" I exclaimed, pulling the older boy into a hug. "It was good to be home, but it was much more exciting to come back and read up on my two favourite celebrities!" "And who's that?" I smirked. "Adele and Jessie J, duh." Gary laughed, returning the smirk. "Nah, I'm kidding. You and Nixx are at the top, then Niall and his lads." Gary explained. "Thank you for the information, Sargent Bonehead. We could have guessed." Ryan muttered, flicking Gary's head. I giggled. "Are we ever going to leave? Maura's coming in an hour!" I exclaimed, hanging up the my phone and checking the time. "Of course! Let us go!" Gary shouted, leading me to Ryan's car. It was the colour of a fire engine, and just as loud as one if he lay on the horn. "What was wrong with Sean's car in the garage?" Ryan asked as we drove down the road. "1. There's a cast on my foot. 2. I'm a terrible driver." I answered, playing with my crutches. "Yeah, you're a bloody terrible driver." He laughed, adjusting his mirror so he could see me from the backseat.
Once we pulled into the grocery store, we grabbed a trolley and started down the aisles. "What do we need?" Gary inquired, examining some carrots. "Put those down, they taste bad and don't end well with me." I laughed, but making sure the carrots stayed a distance away from me. I'll never forget the time I found out I had a carrot allergy.
*Flashback 5 years ago* "Happy Birthday, Sibon!!" We all yelled as the jet-black haired girl entered the house. "Oh, gosh! Thanks guys!" She said, engulfing Sean and I into a hug. Once again, our parents were out on holiday when something special came up. That year, it was Sibon's 16 birthday. "Do you feel any older?" a 17-year-old Sean asked, raising his bushy blond eyebrows. "My dye is older, I need to re-do it!" She laughing, fingering her hair that used to be strawberry blond. "Cake time!" Maura exclaimed. walking into the kitchen to get the cake. "NIALL JAMES!!" She roared. "You ate half the cake!!" Maura exclaimed. "Nu-uh! Nixx ate some too!!" Niall said, crossing his arms, but not before pointing to where Nixx was standing. "Phenixx!" Maura sighed. "The only people who didn't have some are Sean, Sibon, and Maggie. Half is okay. After all, we all know Maggie doesn't eat." Niall snickered.
It was true, I didn't eat much back in those days. My parents only fed me once a day from when I came home from school, then locked the fridge and put food in high places. Every time I would come home, a piece of bread with Nutella on it and a banana would be waiting for me, that was all. In the next year, I managed to score a job with enough money to pay for some snacks to keep in my room. From then on I got another one to pay for my instruments. "Niall James! What has gotten into you?!?!" Maura stared at the boy. He shrugged. "Hormones?" Nixx asked, slicing cake for my siblings and I. I plowed into the cake, I hadn't had it in so long. "What kind of cake is it?" Sean asked, already finished with his piece. Niall gets his eating habits from the best, his and my brothers. "Carrot Cake." Niall answered, taking a swipe of frosting from it. "Oh, no.." I groaned. My stomach started to churn, and I could feel my face getting hot, though I became freezing. "Mags... you ok?" Sibon asked, bending down to peer into my eyes. "No..." I whispered, before collapsing onto the ground.
I woke up the next day in the hospital, with lots of wires and beeping noises surrounding me. Once released from the hospital, I got my dog tag updated, as it hadn't been since I left Paris. It now stated my newly found carrot allergy, and every year I come back to test for new allergies.
*End of flashback*
"Speaking of carrots, doesn't your boyfriend have some weird carrot obsession?" Gary asked. Boyfriend? Right, Louis. I need to get used to this. "Umm, maybe not an obsession, but he definitely likes them- a lot." I repiled, adding a giggle at the end. My phone then started to ring. It played '1, 2, 3, 4' by the Plain White Tee's, a.k.a. Louis's ringtone he put for himself on my phone. I really need a passcode for it.... "Speaking of boyfriends, here he is now." I said, showing the boys the picture that Nixx took of him holding the magazine article with my face all over it next to his. "Hello?" I spoke into the phone as Ryan pushed the trolley and I hobbled around on my crutches. "Maggie!" Louis exclaimed. "Hi, Lou." I smiled. "Oooh, the 'my superstar boyfriend called' smile. Nice." Gary commented, and I slapped the back of his head. "Ow!" He exclaimed. "What's up?" Louis asked. "Nothing, just in the store." I laughed, picking up a box of fettuccine and dropping it in the trolley. "I thought Nixx said Maura was coming over for dinner..." He sounded confused. "She is, I just needed to pick up a few things first." I explained, comparing different brands of lettuce. "Ah, I see. Did you hear about Nixx going to America and dress shopping at Kleinfeld?" Louis asked, and I could practically see his smirk. He was playing the best friend vs. boyfriend game. Nixx played that when I was with Brian... No. Shake it off, I told myself. "No, I did not. I would love to come, but I can't. Where would I find the money?" My mind was suddenly filled with thoughts of a third job. "Ah, I see. The-" Lou was cut off by Gary seizing my phone. *Louis POV* "How do you like the house, Lou?" Mum asked me, as I lost my way to one of the kitchens for the fifth time. "It's awesome! I just wish it came with a map." I laughed, as she guided me to the room I was looking for. "Why didn't Maggie come? I would have loved to meet her." Mum said, looking up at me. I looked at my bare feet, wishing I had a pair of socks on. "I dunno. She probably wants her cast off before coming and Nixx said she said she just needs some time back in Mullingar." "Ah. Is she ever going to come?" She laughed. "Probably. Niall and Nixx will find a way, and maybe I can help sway her as well. Afterall, she is my girlfriend." I grinned, thinking of those wild curls, those brown eyes, that accent that was a blend of Irish and something else. I think French... "She's quite lovely, and as long as the girls like her, she can stay." Mum added a soft laugh as she made some tea for us. "They already think she's pretty, but that's a fact." I replied, then reddened at how cheesy that was. "Way to be cheesy, bro." Lottie said, as she entered the kitchen. "Just wait till you have a boyfriend!" I responded. "Yeah, yeah. Tell it to you girlfriend." Lottie smirked, making her eyes go all whack when she said girlfriend. "Charlotte!" Mum exclaimed, getting cross. "Nah, she's right. I'm going to call Mags now." I said, walking to a quiet place to call her. "Hello?" The girl who I loved answered. "Maggie!" I said, as if I didn't know who I was talking to. I mentally slapped myself. "Hi, Lou." I could imagine her smile. I heard a male voice in the backround, and an 'ow!'. Wonder who that was.. "What's up?" I asked, not really sure where this conversation was going to go. "Nothing, just in the store." She replied. "I thought Nixx said Maura was coming over for dinner..." I was a bit confused. "She is, I just needed to pick up a few things first." Maggie explained, and I wondered how she got around with the trolley and her crutches while on the phone. "Ah, I see. Did you hear about Nixx going to America and dress shopping at Kleinfeld?" I smirked. I was going to win this round! "No, I did not. I would love to come, but I can't. Where would I find the money?" She replied, and I wondered if she still had both her jobs. "Ah, I see. The-" "What is UP, man?!?!?" An American accent cut me off. "Umm... Maggie? You still there?" I asked. "Gary, mwmfpacmgmgajicoammmd!" I heard Maggie fainly mumble. "Nah, dude. It's Gary." He laugehed, and I wondered just who this Gary was. "Ryan, help!" I heard Mags say. "Did you take Maggie's phone?" I laughed, hoping he was just a friend. "Ryan- hahahahhahahahahahhaa not help like that!!! Hahahahahahaha- stop! You- too- Gary!!" Maggie exclaimed between fits of laugher. "Louis- if- you- can- hear me- I- apologise- for- the- hooligan!!" She laughed. "Ok...? Have fun doing, er, whatever you're doing. Love you!" I said, trying to keep the tone light. "I love you too!" I could hear the grin in her voice, followed by Gary/Ryan going 'aww' and the click of disconnection. I sat in my bed and watched some TV, brushing off the fact that Maggie is alone with two boys. I tried to shake the thoughts, but I went to bed, thinking terrible 'what ifs'. *Maggie POV* I managed to get back to my house in time to make dinner for Maura and I with a bit of time to spare. After cleanup, I went fell asleep on the downstairs couch while watching Flushed Away. I woke up to the sound of my phone ringing. It was 'Stuck Like Glue' by Sugarland. I didn't even like country, why was this a ringtone?!?! I checked the caller ID and a picture of the blonde girl I've known and loved for years was on the screen. Grinning, I slid open my phone and answered. "Mags!!" Nixx yelled. "Nixx!" I yelled back. "Did you get your cast off?!?!?" She asked. "Not yet, my appointment's at noon." I replied, checking the clock. It was 10. "I'm in New Jersey!!" She screamed. "No way!" I gasped. Kleinfeld's was in New Jersey. "Yes way!! I have an appoitment at Kleinfeld's tomorrow. Want to come?!?" She inquired. "I don't have the money! How would I get there?" I responded, frowning. "Harry said he'd pay to have his bride's maid of honour come dress shopping with her." Nixx replied, and I could hear the pride in her voice. "Aw, Haz! Well, if he doesn't mind, then HECK YEAH I WANNA COME!!" I started to bounce on the couch. "Yes! I'm so glad you're coming. I gotta go tell Harry to arrange the flight, love you!" Nixx said. "Love you too." I laughed, hanging up. *Ding Dong!* My doorbell rang. I crutched as fast as I could to the door. "Ready to get your cast off?" Maura asked. "You bet!!" I exclaimed, grinning. Maura was taking me to my appointment, then I had a short therapy appointment, then home to pack for America! Once I was in the podiatrist's office, I started to get jitters. I was so excited by the thought of getting around on my own, without these clunky crutches I almost leapt into the examination room once I was called in. "Would you like to keep your cast after you are done with it?" Dr Lawson asked from behind her clipboard. "Um, sure!" I smiled, and she got the tool to saw the cast off. Once it was off, I gasped at my leg. From the knee up it looked like a normal leg. From the knee down, it looked like the world's driest one. "You're going to need to put some lotion on that to make it smooth again." Dr Lawson nodded at my dried up calf. She handed me my cast and I hobbled over to the physical therapy room. After physical therapy, I could finally walk! It was something I hadn't done in quite a while, and the feeling was awesome. Once home, I put on some Ed Sheeran and started packing. *************************************************************************************************************** "Hi, welcome to Kleinfeld's, do you have an appointment?" A receptionist smiled at us from behind a desk. I somehow made it to New Jersey, and now was shaking in my Uggs with excitement for being in the place where my favourite TV was held. "Yes, appointment for Phenixx Nicholson?" Nixx answered, shuddering slightly at her full name. "Yes, yes come with me." The receptionist led us to a waiting area where Mrs Tomlinson, Lottie, Daisy, Fizzy, Pheobe, Gemma, Nixx, and I sat. "And you are alright with the filming?" the receptionist inquired. "Yes." Nixx answered. "Ok! Great! A consultant will be with you soon." she smiled once again and vanished. "Who do you think we are going to get? Antonella?" Nixx whispered to me, peeling off her gloves as I took off my coat. "I dunno.. I hope we get Randy. He's my favourite." I laughed. "Isn't he gay?" Nixx inquired. "Probably. But he seems to get the girls." I shrugged. "Hi, Phenixx?" We looked up at a girl in probably her mid-20's with sleek red hair and deep hazel eyes. Suddenly, I felt inferior to her. She could be my sister, but better looking. I fingered my crazy flame-coloured curls and followed her to where we would be viewing dresses. "I'm Dinah, and it's a pleasure to be serving you, soon to-be-Mrs Styles." Dinah grinned, shaking Nixx's hand and making her blush. "Now, we will take you and your maid of honour to the booth for information." she explained, and Nixx beckoned me over. "Do you know how this process goes?" Dinah inquired as we walked deep into the store. "Yes, we are big fans of Say Yes to the Dress!" Nixx answered. I felt a little more confident, but still not who I usually am. I was confident, then Brian took that all away. Now, my insecurities are hidden behind the wall I don't even let Nixx and Niall into. "Well, I'm a big fan of your fiance and his band." Dinah replied. "It's truly an honour to serve you, I've never met a celebrity before, none the less two in one day!" She grinned, and we arrived at the booth. I heard Nixx say her information. "Can you tell me a little about yourself, your fiance, and the wedding?" Dinah asked. This audi would be overlayed as they showed pictures of the couple adn the location. "Well, I'm Nixx Nicholson, as some of you may know me, and I am getting married to Harry Styles on October 25, 2013. It will be in the Hyatt Location at Clearwater Beach in Florida. "And who do you have with you today?" Dinah inquired. "I have my best friend in the whole wide world and maid of honour, Maggie, her boyfriend's mum and sisters Jay, Lottie, Fizzy, Pheobe, and Daisy, and my fiance's sister Gemma. Daisy and Pheobe are my flower girls, Lottie and Fizzy are junoir bridesmaids, and Gemma's a bridesmaid." Nixx informed her. "Ok, we let's take you back to a dressing room and we shall look at some dresses!" Dinah exclaimed, and beckoned me into the booth. "So you're Nixx's maid of honour?" Dinah asked. This was supposed to be when Nixx was looking at dresses. "Yup." I smiled to the camrea. "How did Harry and Nixx meet?" Dinah pressed. "We all met up the first day Nixx and I came to live with Niall. We were there for December while our parents were on Holiday. Then, on Christmas, Harry proposed. But Nixx skyped with the guys a little while they were still on the X-Factor." I answered. "And what about you and Louis?" Dinah smiled, and I blushed. "Well, we're dating, but there's no marriages in mind for now." I laughed. "Look, here she comes!" Dinah squealed as if she's done this a lot, which she most likely has. I walked back to where the girls were while Dinah led Nixx to a dressing room. After reaching dress #11, we found the one. Nixx walked out on to the little runway thing with all the lights and mirrors and she had a beautiful mermaid style strapless dress that fit her figure perfectly, and left a little room incase she doesn't lose all her baby fat. Afterall, she'll have her baby in September. "Oh. My. Gosh." Was all I could utter when she walked out. "You like it?" She asked. "YES!!" we all exclaimed. "So, Nixx, are you saying yes to the dress?" Dinah leaned forward, showing suspense. "YES!" Nixx squealed, and I ran up to hug her. "Owowowowo!" I exclaimed in pain. I wasn't supposed to run yet. "Mags! Don't go breaking you leg again!" Nixx laughed as we engulfed her into a group hug. ************************************************************************************************************** "Hey! Glad you could make it!" Taylor beamed when she was the girls and Nixx and I. We came back from our American Adventure, only to turn around again a couple days later to come to a party hosted my Taylor Swift. "We're glad to be here!" Nixx beamed back. Taylor led us in to where music was pulsing. There were people everywhere, most people around Nixx and I's age, but there were some younger people there too. "Hollywood parties. This is the life." Nixx laughed as we got some hot cocoa. "Oh my gosh, look! It's Ciara Bravo from that show with the band that the boys toured with!" Fizzy pointed out a short brunette. "Oh, yeah! Big Time Rush! That show is hallarious!" Lottie agreed. "Let's go say hi!" Daisy and Pheobe shouted. "JINX!" They shouted once more. "Go, go have fun, but we will meet back here soon, ok?" Nixx said. "Yes, mum." They chorused, then ran over to Ciara.
