Inevitable Darkness

( A/N : This is the first poem I've ever written about my depression. I'm still pretty proud of it ^.^ )

Through the darkness light appears
It's warmth ever so gently caresses my fears
Words are whispered through the veil
A promise that the darkness will not prevail
"An Eden awaits you."

When I try to leave the darkness follows me
Placing a ball and chain upon my ankle
Giving a reminder of who I belong to
I fear the light had lied
Where's this Eden it promised to provide?
"There's no place to hide..."

It chants to me when I'm alone
Words that would be able to break bones

One of Death

One of Hurt

One of Blood

One of Girth
"You can never leave me."

The light is just beyond my reach
"Why can't you help me?"

A dark black hand grasps my waist
His claws rip into my skin
Hot red blood drips down my sides
Deep dark laughter fills the skies

"I am the Night

I am your Fear

I am the Suicidal Thoughts that appear

When you're Alone

And no one is home

I will Creep inside

Because I know where you Hide

I promise you this

You cannot be Saved"
