Chapter 3: Unexpected News

Louis' P.O.V.

"I'm pretty sure being here with me is better than without me across the world." I remarked.

"Well, right now...it doesn't seem like that."

After saying that, Brooke walked out of the flat. She was surprisingly calm, she didn't slam the door or throw anything at me. I wouldn't blame her though, I acted like a dick. I just sighed and lounged on the couch, looking around at the empty flat.

This is the first time I have ever been alone in the new flat. Ever since we got it after our honeymoon, we were always together. We were mostly out and about because of all of my interviews and the shopping for the flat. I hadn't really noticed all of the decorating that Brooke had done. When ever she would start decorating, I would just sit and stare at her. I know that sounds really creepy, but I am her husband... I'm allowed to admire her, right?

Looking at all of the walls, I found out that Brooke hung up some pictures. They were mostly of us at our wedding. The picture that caught my eye first was a picture of a moment I could never forget. It was us cutting our wedding cake. Brooke had her hands on the knife and mine covered hers. I remember after the picture was taken and the piece of cake was cut, she smushed the giant piece in my face. I didn't see it coming, but I didn't mind the cake on my face, it was delicious.

I looked at all of the pictures on the wall until I reached my favorite. We were kissing underneath the Eiffel Tower, and you could see the fireworks in the sky on the picture. That night had to be one of the best in my life yet.

Reminiscing on these memories made me miss Brooke more, even if she just left less than an hour ago.

What am I doing just sitting here?

I should be out there, looking for her. I can't just sit her and let her get away. I need to fight for her.

I jumped up off of the couch and grabbed my keys, slipping on shoes as I ran towards the door. I swung the door open, getting ready to run out, but I stopped when I saw Brooke. She was sitting outside the door with her knees pulled up to her chest. She stopped crying when she heard me and looked up, sniffling a bit.

"Louis, I'm sorry for saying all the things I said. I don't even know why I ran out and went to my car, I should've just stayed here and worked it out with you. I'm-"

I stopped her by engulfing her in a hug. She hugged back tightly and started to cry again.

"Brooke, you don't need to appologize. It's all my fault. I was just...jealous. I didn't mean any of those rude things I said. I was just fighting for you, in a way. My mother always told me to fight for the ones I love the most."

She stopped crying and looked up at me and scrunched up her nose. "I hate fighting. It sucks ass."

I let out a laugh and agreed by shaking my head. "Yeah. Lets go inside." I picked her up bridal-style and proceeded to walk in. I led us both to the couch and sat down. Brooke cuddled into me as I held onto her.

"Is that true, what you said about fighting for the ones you love the most?" She asked, still holding on to me.

"Totally. I love you Brooke, I would do anything for you."

She looked up at me and smiled. "I love you too." She pecked my lips and laid back down.

After a couple of minutes, I broke the silence. "I never noticed all the pictures you hung up in here."
