It was a rainy afternoon and Jennika was going home without her umbrella. She left it this morning and now she's soaked.
She runs and runs till she sees a tree...the only shelter she could see.
She runs to it then sighs..her house seemed to be a mile away and the rain never seems to stop.
It's so gray, the sky. that she's losing hope of going home in time.
If she runs now for another mile, she's gonna be sick for sure.
There's still drippings below the tree, for sure, she's gonna be sick.
"I guess it's better to run" she said to herself.
"or maybe it's better to wait" a voice spoke, a deep soft voice.
She looked around, there was no one there.
Then she noticed, the drippings below the tree stopped hitting her...she looked up.
"Hi!" it was a guy...
A familiar face.
He's sitting on a branch looking down at the confused girl's face.
O___O
"R-ryland?!" then it had hit her.
IT'S HER CRUSH!!!
She turned to look away.
"ah. you know me?" he asked in a soft but jolly voice.
He leaped, dropping himself down.
Jennika heard him touch the ground.
She was gazing down at her shadows, then it was covered by something round.
"Ah?" it was an umbrella from Ryland's hands.
"yo!" he smiled.
She looked away blushing..."H-hi"
"What's wrong?" he moved to face her gaze..
Jennika never realizedd how close they were.
She looks away but Ryland keeps on facing her...so she stopped.
His face leaning towards her, almost falling.
"N-nothing" she steps back but accidentally steps on the slippery side.
"Oh no, I'm...."
An arm supported her back.
"a klutz eh?"he said.
This time, she can smell his breath. Warm and fresh....Super close.
"S-sorry!!" she tried to support herself, pushing Ryland back.
"O-ow"
"T-thank you so much but I-i need to go now."
She picked her dirty bag, patted it clear before donning it then ran. Into the rain.
"Wait" Ryland ran to her, sheltering her under his umbrella.
And now she's again stuck with him, in his side.
The umbrella was small though and Jennika, feeling awkward, keeeps a two-inch distance from him and getting into the rain.
But now she's not. Ryland wraps his hands around her and pulls her close to him.
The rain's not touching either of them now.
"Looks like our house is in the same direction" Ryland spoke up.
"yeah" Jennika answered.. feeling all comfortable.
