Neville ran as fast as he could, dodging flying spells and climbing over fallen rubble. He had spotted the bouncing, blonde locks of Luna Lovegood speeding through the corridor.

"Luna! Luna!" He called out, hoping she could hear him. Luna stopped suddenly and turned around. She didn't see anybody right away, but then she noticed him.

"What is it, Neville?" She shouted back to him. Neville was now only a few feet away from her.

"Luna, there's something I need to tell you, and I don't have much time-" A death eater fired a spell somewhere above them, causing the ceiling to collapse. Luna screamed. Neville and Luna darted out of the way of the falling stone, separating them. Neville's hopes of telling her how he really felt diminished, as he needed to focus on fighting.

Out on the grounds, the fighting was happening heavily. He noticed Professor McGonagall taking on a death eater on her own, and George and Percy Weasley tackling another. Jets of green and red light flew past in every direction. Neville noticed Seamus Finnigan struggling to hold up two death eaters and raced over to help him.

"Thanks," Seamus said, distracted. It was much easier to manage the two death eaters now that Neville had joined in to help, but it was still a huge challenge. Thankfully, Neville managed to stun one and Seamus locked the other in a full body bind. Neville quickly scanned the grounds and saw that many other death eaters were being jinxed or cursed. They were winning, for now.

Luna was busy with the battle at hand to care about Crumple-Horned Snorkacks, or even Nargles. She and fellow Ravenclaw, Cho Chang, were helping Professor Flitwick with protections on the school. She was so used to being alone and in deep thought about whatever was on her mind, but now, this battle was keeping her busy. She had to help Harry Potter and everyone else in the fight against Voldemort.

"Luna, help!" Cho cried as a spell came flying at her from somewhere, nearly knocking her down. Luna hurried over and helped Cho get back on her feet and continued the defenses. Luna glanced over her shoulder and spotted the dark brown head of hair that belonged to Neville Longbottom; he was running towards the great hall. Luna smiled softly, she had always admired Neville's strength, although he hadn't always been brave. Luna quickly got back to work.

"Woaaaaaah!" she heard Neville yell.

"Should I go help him?" She asked the others

"Of course, Miss Lovegood," Professor Flitwick replied, "Go help your friend out. We'll do fine here." Luna waved politely and hurried over to find Neville. She entered the great hall and saw him on the ground, stunned.

"Neville! Let me help you!" She reached out her hand for him to grab, and as his hand touched her's, he had a warm, fuzzy feeling in his stomach.

"Thanks," Neville told her, blushing, partly from embarrassment.
