Chapter 4☀️
Kenzie's POV

I am sitting on my pink duvet cover, legs crossed out in front of me, remote in hand, watching Dear John for about the 30th time. A tear sinks down my cheek. I never fail to cry every time.

Just then I hear PING! I mute the tv.

PING! PING!

"Maddie!" I hear.

I pull open the shades on my window and push it open.

It's Gino.

"Oh shit! Hey Mackenzie. Wrong bedroom."

"Hi Gino! What are you doing here?" I say in the most flirty voice I can muster. I can't believe Gino is throwing rocks at my window. But he's obviously looking for Maddie, not me.

"Ummm... I... Was gonna come practice the...the duet with you!"

"Gino, I know your lying. Tell me the real reason."

Just then, I hear my bedroom door bring pushed open, and in walks Maddie.

"Gino hi!" She exclaims.

She pulls out her phone and starts typing. A second later, Gino's phone buzzes and I see the screen, for a split second an he turns it toward himself. "Backyard in 10" it reads.

"Hey we'll see ya Mackenzie. Keep practicing that duet." He baks away from the window.

I slam the window shut and pull the shade closed.

"What the hell, Mads! Your meeting up with boys to go hook up in our backyard? I thought you didn't even like Gino!" I say.

"Well, now I do. And you, stay away from him. Stop being childish. Your 14 now, grow up. He's ALL mine. Watch your back." She threatens.

She sways out of the room and I hear the back door shut behind her. I have some spying to do.
