Marie's POV//
Have you ever found yourself stood in a middle of a hallway, lost for thoughts? That's me in high school as everyone comes towards me and gossip about my father to my face. "Is it true your father is gonna knock down that big drug and money ring building in the middle of town?" They all rush in to ask. I just sigh and shrug my shoulders, I have nothing to tell them.
But then I wake up, it's just a dream. A wild, bizarre dream. I find myself laid in bed, the quilt on the floor and my pillow barely hanging for life on the edge of my bed. I sit up and look to the end of my bed, a million thoughts running through my mind. Then I remember, it wasn't a dream, it was a dramatized reenactment of what happened yesterday. I knew I was gonna be on everyone's bad books because my father is gonna knock down the biggest building full of crime and drugs in Australia. I hated the attention, especially bad attention due to my fathers twisted ideas.
It was a school day, tomorrow was the weekend and I couldn't wait to get away from the shit, hellhole I call school.
I finally had energy to leave my bed and I had started to change. I went with my normal daily look, a sweater and some black leggings with my vans. Comfortable and casual. I didn't feel like impressing others today.
I glance over at my phone that was sitting on my bedside table, I see it light up with a message notification on it for Aubrey, my bestfriend.
"Be my ride for school please? Mom bailed out early ): ily!"
The message read. I tut and sigh, now brushing my hair whilst calling her up.
"Marie! Hey!" Aubrey answers the call. I smile and look down at my phone. "Hey Aubrey, I might be a little late for the ride this morning, I'm running real late this morning." I mutter. "Is it about yesterday with what happened? You know you don't have to worry about it now, right? The big scary guy took care of it, you know, the guy that seemed hella into you." I could feel her teasing and silliness in the tone of her voice. I shudder at the thought of this man. I had no idea who it was but I was warned to stay away, but yet again another side of me that isn't so innocent and bright wanted to delve deeper into this mystery. My father said never talk to the dark type, they all bring trouble to your door and will aim for me once they find out I'm the president's daughter.
The sniff of new drama has the school quaking, I hated it because right now it was all about, me, me, ME. I despise how I was the main attraction to all things bad, all because of my dads foolish ideas. He'll regret it one day, when I have a bounty placed on me and I don't know where I am.
"Marie!?" I hear Aubrey shout for the third time in this call, I seemed to have drifted off.
"Dreaming about scary guy, ey?" She teases. "Anyways, it doesn't matter if you're late, just show up. I have some plans to tell you for tonight." Aubrey exclaims. "But i have that book thing tonight, you know how my dad ge-" I was interrupted by a deep sigh from Aubrey. "Yawn, I get it, but you wouldn't wanna miss this. Fuck that book thing and live a little, Marie. Think about it." She spoke.
"Now hurry up and pick me up, babygirl." Aubrey ends the call. I sigh once more and shake my head, grabbing my bag, phone and keys and leaving the house. I couldn't face my father this morning, I had suffered enough, so I left without a kiss goodbye. I never did this.

I pull over to Aubrey's home with a tired look on my face, yet she comes crashing into my car with her happiness bomb, her squealey, squeaky attitude sure did make me cringe helplessly. But that was also a reason why I loved her dearly.
"Sooo, guess who got two vip passes to that famous nightclub in town..." Aubrey fans herself with her hand before clapping happily. "Hmm, lemme guess..." I mumble. "Your mother because you know fine and well that we aren't old enough to get in there. 21 is the age limit there." I spoke.
Aubrey rolls her eyes and looks towards me, tutting. "Keep up with the times, sweetheart." She puts her bag on her lap and searches through it, finding her purse.
"Thats why we have these bad boys..." Aubrey wiggles her brows and shows me two fake iD's passes. I widen my eyes and shook my head.
"You're crazy." I began. "We can't go in there and expect to not get hit on by 50 year old men wanting sex. You know how freaky and weird this society is, Aubrey. I don't fancy getting attacked tonight." I end, switching on the engine and I had began driving to school.
"Alright, alright... How about this... I buy you your starter drinks, cocktails, gin, whatever the fuck you want. But the minute an old man or weirdo druggie fella starts to hit on you, you tell me and we can skeet the fuck outta there, okay? Deal?" Aubrey proposes. I look at the road, never taking my eyes off it until we hit a red light. "Besides, my dad would kill me." I shake my head, peeking over at Aubrey. "You know how strict he is with midnight curfews." I whisper.
Aubrey shrugs. "Fuck that shit, live your life and be free for a moment in your life. C'mon marieee! You wont regret it..." Aubrey pouts, giving me puppy dog eyes, she always does this when she wants to manipulate me into bad decisions.
"I'll get you a new dress, new heels, do your hair and makeup! Anything you want baby!" Aubrey claps her hands as I now look back at the road and start driving once more.
"Fine! An hour max!" I spoke, nodding to her offer.
"Good! You need a break either way girlie, you're too tense." Aubrey admits.
I just tilt my head and ignore her for a moment.
Maybe a night out is what I needed. Maybe a guy in my life is what I needed.
Stop being such an innocent crude and get out there, I'd tell myself that every time Aubrey has one of these wack ideas. I had no idea what I had just gotten myself into, but I was gonna deal with it anyways. Let the party begin, I guess.
