My Unexpected Mate

The week flew by and the awaited day arrived. My body trembled with both nervousness and excitement. Tomorrow was the day that I would be able to use everything I had been working for. All those days of skin care, hair care, usage of only natural products, DIY accessories, make up tutorials, DIY nail art, hands and feet care and endless fashion blogs would finally be put to good use. I was even thankful for the yoga classes that Luna Fiona had forced me to go. Every wheel was spinning in my favour, everything else was out of my reach.

I made my bags the previous day, and yes, I meant BAGS. The Alpha told us to take the maximum of two bags, but Alpha Joshua didn't understand a girl's heart. How could I move into my mate's house with only two bags of myself?

"Millicent, I said a maximum of two bags. You have six.", Alpha Joshua pointed at my luggage.

"But", I pulled my emergency card for this situation was an emergency, "My glorious Alpha, oh your highness. How could I leave my home, my family, all the nice memories, with just two bags? How would I be able to pack so much in such little space?"

"Two bags. That's it. If you don't hurry up and pick just two bags you won't be going to the Mates' Meeting.", the Alpha's knives pierced through my whole body. My soul was wandering the universe...

A man, a tall and handsome man sat in a corner. A fog of loneliness surrounded him making it hard for anyone to approach him and vice-versa. He looked at his glass, his only company for the night, and said to anyone who wanted to hear, "Where is my mate?". Someone heard him and answered, "Oh, you mean Millicent? She couldn't come because she surpassed the luggage limit.". The man kept what the person said inside his mind until he arrived home. Sitting on his bed, the person's words wouldn't leave him, "She preferred luggage over my love?", such cruel realization made him hang himself with his own special tie that he had bought to meet her-

"NOOOOO!", I shouted at the top of my lungs," My mate can't hang himself because of this, how much time do we have left?"

"Twenty minutes.", the Alpha said.

"That is plenty, I will just reorganize my things... Where are my bags?", I looked around.

"I told Beta Levi to pick two bags, now be quiet and get seated.", the Alpha pointed to the van, at least he let me keep my shoulder purse.

The van had nine seats. I looked inside and tried to look for Sarah, she was in the back wearing sunglasses and headphones which meant she was sleeping. I tried looking if there was a seat next to her but Francis smirked at me, "All seats taken back here.", with Ollie between Francis and Sarah. I had no other choice than sitting next to future Alpha Beer-Pong who was sleeping as well. I just hoped he wouldn't drool over me like last time we travelled.

I sat next to him, much for my despair, and it didn't take long for the last unmated wolf to sit next to me: Lycan. The moment I saw him I knew I was doomed- WAIT a moment. Wasn't Lycan mated? Then what was he doing in our van? Where was Hunter?

"Excuse me, Beta Levi. What is Lycan doing here?", I tried not to show displease.

"He is going with you.", was all the Beta said.

"I am babysitting today.", Lycan said glaring at Beer-Pong.

"Lycan, this is part of your duty-", "How the heck is babysitting a grown ass man a Beta's duty? This is Luna's job.".

Lycan was furious, but who could blame him? He had a lovely mate at home and had to go to a party for single people to look after another guy. His mate was probably worried, we all know that when a man isn't single is when the others charge at him.

"Oh, hello Hunter. Why are you going in the front?", I tried changing the subject.

"So that I don't get caught in that commotion.", I could hear pride from his voice. Hunter was always a step ahead of us.
