Happy New Year

*Flashback to 2001*
It was getting late, I could feel my eyes becoming tired as I sat comfortably in my chair reading a book with a cup of hot chocolate. It was new years eve and almost everyone I knew was out celebrating. I had been busy filming the day before, I was too exhausted to go anywhere tonight, my boyfriend Tom had also been away filming his movie "Unrelated". Tom was a cool guy, we have been dating for almost a year now, when we got into acting together we understood our schedules would make it difficult. But at the start of this journey, it's difficult to leave a footprint in the business. I was in no way greedy, I took every opportunity that was given to me.

The sudden sounds of fireworks being active startled me, midnight I thought to myself with a smile, happy New Year Tom. I set my book down on the table and rubbed vigorously at my legs, when there was a knock at the door, I rolled my eyes, "go away" I mumbled annoyed scratching my forehead, probably some annoying drunk neighbors. They had a habit of knocking the door after they've been out to a bar for the night.

I crossed my legs in the chair and stared out of the window, watching the fireworks with amusement.

The knocking continued, I got up and sighed heavily, about to bitch at whoever was behind the door knocking at this time.

Stomping to the door, I opened it harshly, "DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT TIME -" I stopped abruptly,
"Happy New Year!!" Tom stood in front of me, shocked by my outburst.
