Krist's POV

Krist is playing games on the bed when his parents come back from their reunion party. The sound of the front door being open and closed was loud enough he can hear it from the second floor. Being the good son that he is, he placed his phone on the night stand and trudged down to greet them.

"Welcome home, Mae, Por." He smiled and give both of them a hug.

"You too, son." His Por gruffly said, patting his head and then walk passed him casually. His mother though, smiled so brilliantly at him.

"I'm glad you come back, Kit." She started, passing him plastic bags full of snacks. "You're too busy with your preparation for the hazing you barely spend your vacation with us."

Hearing his Mae complained like that, Krist could only smiled sheepishly. He hug Mae from the side and walk with her to sit on the sofa. "Oohh.. Mae.. it will be a good experience, na. Por said so. That's why I applied for it in the first place." He reminded her. "It will also to make the freshmen behave themselves around me. You know I hate it being teased on." He pursed his lips.

True, being the middle child of three, and being a good brother that he is to his baby sister, he let her dragged him everywhere she goes. She would whine and even cried if he didn't do what she want him to do and if he didn't play with her. So he grew up to be.. not manly enough, that's what many of them said. Coupled with his face, there's always someone who tried to tease and goad him.

"Aww.. my cute son. Of course it's for the best. I'm just a little lonely what with King being so far away." Mae pinched his cheeks a little bit, smiling helplessly with the situation about his older brother. P' King went overseas to study his master and decidedly won't go back this year.

"Khrup, Mae.." Krist smiled indulgingly to her.

"Ah ah. Let me change my clothes and then help me cooking our dinner na.." Mae told him which he nodded in understanding. He watched Mae goes before decided to get his phone upstairs.

There's a new message popping once he got back. and he blinked in bewilderment as he read the text.

"Are you really such a whiny bottom that even your Mae knows?" the text said.

"Mae!!" he shouted at the top of his lungs. Oh my God! How can a stranger suddenly text him something like this?! Where's Mae? He need his Mae~

With a pursed lips and teary eyes, he comes down with a stomp and show his Mae the text. Unexpectedly, Mae's face brightened. Somehow, she looks so happy.

"Oh.. so he decided to text you!" she exclaimed.

..what?

"Mae~" he uncaringly whined. With a huff, he slumped his body to a chair not far from them in the kitchen. "Who is this guy? How can he said it like that?" he demanded.

"He is the son of your Por's friend." She giggled. Mae then smiled knowingly. "He is handsome and so polite. You should talk to him. don't keep him waiting."

Krist gaped like a fish without air. How can someone as rude as the one who texted him something like this be considered polite?!

"Mae! What exactly was it that you tell him?!"

"Ah? Just about you complaining about your lack of boyfriend." Mae answered oh so calmly with a chuckle and a pat on his head. Again, he pursed his lips prominently. It was such an impulse of him, bemoaning how he was the only one left among his friends who is still single. But.. but! Should he really talk to an unknown face who text rudely as a first message?!

"Go on." Mae must have understood what's inside his reluctant mind, because she is encouraging him to reply.

"Don't want." He huffed childishly.

"Oh.. my cutie boy.. trust Mae, na. just try talking with him. his name is Singto. He is a year older than you, so pay a respect of that, too." His Mae told him. Krist gritted his teeth.

Ughh.. Fine!

"And you must be such a know-it-all that the first message you sent me was a rude one." he pressed send not long after he finished his text.
