We had been driving for about 6 hours by now. We of course as in me and my mom. Just 30 more minutes till we're "home". Home is what mom calls it but my home is 6 hours away back in Augusta, Maine. Well, whatevers left of it.
I hadnt talked to my mom the entire six hours we had been driving. Actually I dont think I've said a word to her since she told me we we're moving. Everything that we had been through and just a few days after my sister and my dad died, we we're moving?!
"20 more minutes till we're there" my mom said with a forced smile. "Hows pizza for dinner sound huh? Im sure they have a great pizza place somewhere around here"
I stared at my mom blankly as she spoke. Her fake smile dropped and she gave up the cheerleader act. She clenched the steering wheel tightly and stared at the road ahead. She looked as if she we're about to cry and scream at the same time.
I didn't care at all she deserved it. I leaned my head on the ice cold window and watched as the bare trees passed by. One after another, one after another they passed by and new trees woukd appear. The old scenery disappearing. Just like the only life I ever knew.
