"I don't want you going out with Sungjin."

The words completely startle the young man standing in front of the printer, causing him to almost drop his papers. Yes, he knows that Dowoon has a faible for stating the weirdest things at the most unexpected time ever, but more the words then the moment they were spoken in surprise him. Dowoon has always been a great supporter of Wonpils crush on the older student so it was rather confusing to hear his words of rejection, now that Wonpil had finally gatherred every little bit of braveness in himself and asked Sungjin out.
His face is full of confusion when he turns towards his best friend, his eyes demanding an explanation silently. But Dowoon just scoffs and mumbles something under his breath, Wonpil pouting because he can't hear him.

The topic comes up again two days later. Wonpil, being the sweetheart he is has his boyfriends contact saved as 'Sungjinnie' with way to many hearts afterwards. And of course Dowoon has to see it. He glares at Wonpil, daring him to pick up the ringing phone, but the older isn't even noticing his stare.  He smiles and gestures weirdly while explaining a funny thing that happened to him to his boyfriend. Dowoon scoffs. It isn't even funny, it is dumb. But it isn't fair that Sungjin gets to hear this story before Dowoon does. Wonpil is his best friend and Sungjin is... the guy that Dowoon hates more than Math homework. And he lets him know exactly that. Whenever they eat lunch together or when the two young men wait for Wonpil to finish his after school activities, Dowoon drops little mean comments about every little small thing Sungjin has ever done wrong. Wonpil never notices anything and Sungjin always makes sure the other wouldn't know about his little quarrel with his best friend. Wonpil probably wouldn't believe that Dowoon could be so mean.

Their relationship goes smoothly for the next few months, never a fight breaking out between the two. Wonpil gives him his virginity and Sungjin promises him his heart in return. Dowoon still makes his hurtful comments and even tries to spread a cheating rumour, but all his efforts are in vain. Not even a small cloud is to be seen on the beautiful sky that is the two males relationship. Until one day not a cloud, but a whole storm appears and ends everything that was between the two. That storm being the bruises all over Dowoons face and Sungjins fists. The younger had took it to far. Sungjin had endured every tease and comment in silent, but not this one. His sister isn't and would never be that nasty thing Dowoon described her as. She's a beautiful young woman, completely in love with her husband and Sungjin had seen it as his mission to protect her image, not realising what kind of consequences it could have. But he doesn't have to wait to know what his fight had caused, for he finds out the next day when Wonpil breaks up with him. His eyes tearfilled and his voice breaking, he thanks Sungjin for the nice time but also tells him that violence isn't a trait he is looking for. And with that the younger leaves, wiping his tears with the embroidered tissue Sungjin had given him on their anniversary.

~

This very tissue is the first thing Sungjin recognises years after their last day spent together. A handsome man, eyes shining brightly and his smile blinding, stands at the counter of his little tea shop, asking for a green tea latte, the drink Sungjin used to make for Wonpil. While he gives the order to his co-worker to make, he discreetly stares at the man, recognising many of the little things that made Wonpil so lovely. The wrinkles by his eyes, his cute ears, his beautiful hands, made perfectly for playing the piano. His heart already decided way before his head caught up that his first love is standing right in front of him and when they lock eyes for a few seconds, his whole body screams at him to go after this beautiful man. He snatches the recipe from his co-worker and writes down his number before handing it over, blushing when the customer, the oh so beautiful man, smiles at him.

Their love doesn't need much time to grow into a beautiful relationship, stronger than ever. After Sungjin had gotten a text from Wonpil, asking if they could meet and after their awkward first meeting in years, they went on a few dates, Sungjin explaining to Wonpil why he beat up his best friend back in high school.
Small touches and kisses, it's all perfect. Until Dowoon ruins it all (again).
