At this perfect moment in time, I closed my eyes, and reached for her. She warmed to my embrace, and I pulled her close, putting my head next to hers and was about to whisper in her ear, when I felt the need to move, and fast.
Got to love instincts forged in Hell and fire, for as I pushed Rachel back and swung and flashed out, I caught the refuse bottle meant for my head, and the arm attached to it. Feeling that devilish smirk spread across my face, I knew it was "go time." I rose off the bench and shoved a rather gaunt fellow slightly older than me back. *"Je ne connais pas ton ami, mais je te suggèrerais de suivre ton chemin pendant que je te le permet encore," I said with a slow monotone, to allow this man time to register what was going to happen if he pursued his endeavor.
Suddenly Rachel had herself on her feet, screaming at this man at the top of her lungs so rapidly, I could not follow what she was saying, Words like, "not owning," and "leave me alone," crossed her lips. I had no idea what was up, but rest assured, I wanted to know further....the rational side of me kicking in rather quick.
The gentleman, who I found out was named Ettienne, ended up being a guy she rebuffed years earlier. Not really getting over it, he borderline stalked her, and attempted to scare off any one that courted her. Well, that day he learned, bad things happen to bad intentions. He tried to pounce at me, to come off as intimidating and very leonine. The result for him, however, was a straight shot to his solar plexus, and a solid roundhouse kick to the face. Needless to say, we were alone again after a few minutes.
I was still jacked up on adrenaline obviously, feeling the mercurial sting of it in my veins, I felt her hand on my shoulder and she gently turned me around. "I am sorry, Justin. It seems we have had a time of it today." I put my hand on hers, and gently embraced her. "Well it seems, I got someone's attention. Is there a place we can go, and talk privately?"
"Oui, this way." She replied and led me out off toward the bridge.
*I don't know you friend, but I would suggest you go along your way while I still allow you

SachbücherA story of how I met a lovely girl, while singing a song in a restaurant. Very real story, unfortunately it's not as sweet as it may seem to be. There is always a catch in life.
