November 2058,
"Derek' get out your room! The car is here to pick us up." I quickly grabbed my bag and ran out my room.
I had just turned 8 and all my life we've lived in this house, were finally going somewhere else! I'm excited, hopefully I can make some new friends there!
I hopped in the backseat, amazed because I've never been in a floating car.before. My mom and little sister, Aaliyah who's 4 years old was in the backseat with me. The man in the front seat looked back at us and frowned "Its only a 10 minute drive to the airport so don't get too comfortable back there." He said while looking in the mirror.
We arrived at the airport and hopped onto a jet, a real jet! We've never been on a airplane before let alone a jet. We weren't told what state we were flying to or exactly where we were going. We arrived at the location and it looked like a huge hotel with a bunch of different people walking around. Someone walked up to us and began to speak "Follow me and ill take you to your rooms" we walked through a long hallway until we reached room 536. Inside the room was 2 spacious bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, living room, and a kitchen.
"Y'all can settle in for now but at 5 we have an introduction for all new comings for the studies." He walked out and let us settle in "Derek" my mom said leaning down to my level "I know were in a new place but I want you can try your best to make new friends and get used to this new environment " she hugged me and my sister.
"Now go unpack and you can explore the area but don't wonder off to far and be back by the introduction start." "Okay momma!" I said while running into the hallway not looking where I was going, I bumped into another kid. "Oof" we fell to the ground. "I'm sorry I wasn't looking where I was going" I said while reaching my hand out to help him up. "Its okay, I'm fine" "Lets be friends!" He said exclaiming.
"Okay, I just got here so I don't know my way around". "I just got here too! we can walk around together."
I realized I forgot to tell him my name "I'm Derek, what's your name." "My name is Jason". We continued to walk around until my mom comes to get me. "Derek didn't I tell you, to be back before 5" She grabbed my hand and dragged me away from Jason. "See you later Jason!" Jason waved to me before his mom came to get him.
My mom told me to wait for her downstairs and came back to me with my sister. We all walked down to where the introductory was taking place. I spotted Jason in the crowd I tagged my moms shirt "mom mom can we sit by jason please?" "im happy you made a friend, let's go sit by him."
We walked over and sat next to Jason, while my mom talked to his mom. "Hey Jason" "hi Derek, I didn't know you were coming here too" we talked about our favorite shows and games until someone began to speak on a speaker.
"Welcome all new people, we already know why you're here so let me get to the point." "The studies do not start til one week after arrival" he said with a smile "also, you are not allowed to leave the premises at anytime with permission as you can see were surrounded by woods so if you go missing, we will not be held accountable". "You will not get paid until your familes complete at least 5 studies each, studies are completed at random times and you are expected to be free at ALL times and any age will be expected to participate in studies."
"Bedtime is 11, you do not have to sleep but you do have to be in your rooms. Breakfast is from 6 to 8, lunch will served from 12-1:30 blah blah blah blah". I began to fall asleep because this man was talking so much. We I woke up it was finally over and we headed back to our rooms.
"Derek, we don't know when we will be called so just be prepared." "Ok momma, I tired so I'm going to go to sleep. I headed to my to my room to tired to close the door so I commanded the door to close and it did. I hoped in my bed "lights out!" The lights went out so and I fell asleep.
I had a dream about me running towards Jason. We both look terrified as well ran away from the building. That night I woke up with chills and began to cry
