The Nazis rule everything. The world seems totally defenseless. Anya and I are trying to find resistance. Breaking into a prison: Never thought I’d be doing that.

I’m walking in. Best to keep low and not be seen. I see two men. No, wait… Deathshead. He’s the insane piece of Nazi scum I’m up against. I don’t recognize the other guy. He looks like a general or something. There’s a third person. A… Child? She’s not armed. I can only see them from behind but she looks about 10 or 11. She has long dark brown hair.

I take out a laser cutter. It would get me through the fence so I could get an alternate route into the prison. I begin to cut the fence. The little girl turned around. She had chocolate brown eyes and is very pale. She sees me so I guess pleading would be the only option. I put my finger over my lips. She smiled and mouthed, I’m American, too! Go! I give her a thumbs up and cut the fence and sneak into the prison.

That kid; An innocent child—Why would she be with disgraces like them two? Why would she help me?

I race as fast as I can to the cell block where the resistance members should be. I can’t help but think about that kid , though.

I unlocked the chains and everything to find a familiar face: Private Wyatt.

“Captain Blazkowicz! Great to see you sir,” he tells me.

“You too, son,” I replied helping him up. Since I had time, I decided to ask about the girl. “Do you know anything about a little girl runnin’ around this place?” “Yes. Nazi Josef Furnace’s adopted daughter. She’s American. I’ve heard she’s deadly. Very loyal to Daddy n’ Deathshead,” Wyatt explained. “She saw me. Told me to go,” I reply. Nazis come running, so the other men who were prisoners barricade the door. I jump on a table, cut the vent open, and climb in. They’ll be on the other side of this vent. Nazis are pretty damn stupid, so I’m gonna sneak attack them. I hope this kid didn’t send reinforcements.

Kid’s POV

“I can’t believe he got past us!” my father said in German.

“Your child did come in handy, Furnace,” Mr. Strasse told my father, smiling at me. I felt like my body went cold, like I was dead. I’m terrified of Mr. Wilhem Strasse. “Quite the observative one,” my father complimented.

On top of my fear of Mr. Strasse, alias Deathshead, I’m often very shy around other adults. I don’t want to embarrass my father either. He took me in after my parents were killed by  wizard. The Nazis want nothing to do with that world, and I truly respect that.

I am terrified of Mr. Strasse but being here is better than living as a prisoner. There’s no more resistance against the Nazis. It seems like there never would’ve been one. I was born a year or two after they won the war, but I have a different, more American name compared to everyone else: Raven. Last name’s Potter.

Blazkowicz’s POV

I jump out of the vent and use a knife to kill the Nazis. I’m on a bridge that leads out of the cell block. Wyatt won’t move. He’s looking behind me. I turn around to see Deathshead, the kid, and who I’m guessing is Josef Furnace.

“Agent Blazkowicz,” Deathshead gave a cold smile. I hate him. If I make a move, I’m dead. I’m sure the kid’s been through enough. Her eyes were dull this time and she wasn’t smiling.

“We have a very smart child, here, and I don’t think she’d allow seeing another American stop her from from telling anyone about a break-in.”

Wyatt and I topple over Deathshead and Furnace. I keep running and then remember the kid, causing me to stop dead in my tracks. I turn to her. Maybe she really is useful. I pick her up and sling her over my shoulder.
