Fuck, I forgot my keys

I start running back to the house quickly before my Uber gets irritated for waiting too long. I burst into the house and my mom looks at me with glossy cheeks and reddish eyes from the goodbye cry we had no more than 5 min ago.

I look away knowing I'll break down once again.

I can't believe I'm leaving for university already, I'm finally an independent woman who'll have to cook for herself, clean, shop and pay bills.

"Mama, I forgot my dorm keys" I say trying not to ball my eyes out.

Bitch call me sensitive but what can I say? I've always been close to my mom, if anything, she's the realest mf I've ever had by my side, period. I come to her for everything and anything. I've always been inseparable, of course I'm going to feel out of place by myself while being two hours away from home soon.

"Baby they're on the counter" she says not taking her eyes off me, her mouth starts trembling,

So does mine.

We run to each other again and give the hug of our life.

"Aish why did you have to grow older than 4? Right now I'd rather be changing your smelly poopoo diapers than be hugging u goodbye" she says playfully.

I chuckle with snot running down my nose, I know for a faaact I got my ugly kim Kardashian crying face right now.

"Maaama" I say breaking the hug and cupping her face in both my hands while looking straight into her eyes, "before you know it I'll be at your doorstep on Christmas break with gossip and news to tell u about how I'm doing in Uni, trust me it'll go by quick before u know it you're gonna be cooking my favourite meal while I wait at the table bugging you to hurry up and finish the food cause a bitch hungry"

She laughs and so do I, but immediately makes a straight face and flicks my forehead.

"Aaaishhh what was that for? I'm leaving and this is how you treat me??" I ask as I rub my forehead hard in the spot she flicked, bruh she may be small but her fingers hold massive power.

"Don't think you're grown to be cussing in this house, now for a quick hug before you go, hurry up don't make the Uber man waitt" she says bringing me in once again.

We stay like this for a min or two before I grab my keys and open the door.

I turn back and give her a big wave and a big smile.

"Study hard and make ya mama proud baby, make sure to get yourself a lil boyfriend too while you're there okay?" she says winking, as I wave her off and laugh.

"Bye mama I love you, I'll text you once I arrive"

With that, I hop into the Uber, surprisingly the driver doesn't seem pissed off but rather curious

Then I realize the door was open the whole time he probably witnessed all the crying and mushy goodbyes, his poor eyes

"Um, to Seoul university please" I say checking the paper again making sure I got the right place.
