Jimin's mother would scold him if she ever saw him kicking the door shut to his apartment.
When he was younger, he mimicked the way his father shut the front door with groceries in his arms, and on Jimin's first try, he broke a piece of the door off. It wasn't his fault, his father simply "loosened" the piece for him. Blame him mom! His little brother had once showed signs of trying to copy his father, and his mother had revoked story time for the night. Neither of them were too pleased about that.
He'd lived on his own in Seoul for 6 months. He was working at a nice family's cafe just around the corner of his apartment building, while he tried to save up for his tuition. He wasn't quite sure as to what he wanted to study, caught in between the rift of the Arts or Psychology. He was hoping by taking some time off after high school it would help him figure it out. But, each time he thought his mind was made up... something would alter his decision and he'd be back in the middle.
Nonetheless, he lived a happy life.
He loved his job at the cafe, it helped he loved the smell of coffee brewing, but he didn't actually like the taste of coffee. It tasted too bitter, and he didn't like how heavy it felt on his tongue after he had swallowed it. Which some might find odd, you work in a coffee shop, but you hate the taste of coffee? Weird.
He also had plenty of friends that had come from Busan to the city as well. There really was nothing career wise in Busan, unless you were interested in working at the port. A lot of the kids of his graduating class had moved to other cities, where they could have brighter futures. Some of them, were like Jimin, they didn't know what they wanted, but didn't want to stay in Busan while they decided. Right now, his life was quaint. He liked quaint, there was no room for things to go wrong in his life that way; but things always worked out in the end.
It had been a long day in the life of Jimin. They were short staffed at the cafe tonight, meaning he had to work twice as hard to amount to the two people they were missing. People liked their coffee, and he cursed himself for getting into this business where there was no rest for him. He was tired, he felt gross, all he wanted to do was eat and then have a bath.
He had just ripped open a package of ramen to prepare for his dinner, when there was a knock on his door. He looked at the clock; who would be visiting him at 6:22 on a Monday night? Skeptically, he turned off the burner on the stove and hastily walked over to the door. Stepping up on his toes, he peered through the peep hole and visibly groaned.
"What more could you possible have to ask about a kid who stole some bags of beans?" Jimin snapped, as he flung open the door to the two pesky detectives who liked to bug Jimin every chance they could. "He was 6 years old, what are you going to do? Take his animal crackers for 15 months?"
"Nice to see you too, Jimin." the one who knew Jimin before he was a detective spoke, stepping past the short frowning man and entering his home. His partner, the loof headed Kim Jisung trailing in behind him. Jung pressed an annoying kiss to his forehead as he entered, Jimin pushed him back by his chest; rubbing at his head uncomfortably.
Jung was a man he knew from his hometown in Busan, he was quite the character if you ever were to meet him. They lived at opposite ends of the street and would often meet up in the middle to walk to school each day. Above everything, you could say that Jung was his best friend. They spent all their time together in class, outside of class and weekends; he was also the first person he had come out to, and his first kiss.
"Listen Jung," Jimin shut the door quite loudly after them and stomped into the living room with his hands on his hips. "I'm getting very tired of your stupid visits. This better be important or I'm going to call and complain to your captain what exactly you've been doing in your spare time instead of trailing after some criminal."
