Summer in Ireland could be described as lovely, a thrifle too hot but you've got to love the place. Aisleena Macn loved being outside during summer when the forest came alive, she knew almost all the birds and animals on her side and talked to them at times.
No she wasn't Snow White or Cinderella or any other silly Disney princess but she felt rooted in nature.
She lived with her grandparents in the woods, she was told her parents died days after her birth and she had lived with them ever since, in their cottage. She never seen anyone wandering about except once on a day much like today, ten years before the week she turned eight.
She had met a young boy her age for the first time. Since then she had looked forward to seeing him and he appeared that way every summer and he would find a way through the barricade spell around the woods. He was her only friend. She went to school in the outside world but the feeling that she didn't belonged held her back.
He was to come today so she hurried to the edge of the forest, he always came at the same time.
She waited an hour, then as it was noon and she began to think it futile to wait any longer, Rhen stepped into light. She had never seen another person as beautiful as him so far in the outside world. His hair was shoulder length tied back with strands so inky black it put to mind what black should be after darkness had been left without any light.
Grey eyes that swirl if one stared too long. He was tall and lean built, his body lightly muscled.
"Leena", he called to her". She turned and rushed at him. She punched him so hard, he fell with a thump on the ground.
"Owww", he muttered. She glared at him with her strange multicolored eyes.
"Why were you late? I've been here for ages", she questioned him.Hey, hey, cool it. I'm not that late, just had trouble with that damn shield. It's like someone upgraded the damned thing. Shit, my ass." He soothed his hurt butt. She felt sorry for before she cleared her throat.
"Sorry", she mumbled, barely audible. She offered him a hand. He grabbed it and pulled himself up.
Normally they spent time exploring the seemingly unending forest or they would practice magic.Yes, magic! It was one of the reasons they hit it off. Before him, she had never met anyone who could. Other times they spent hours just talking to each other. Now she grabbed his hand and pulled him in the direction of the Western side of the woods.

FantasyA epic tale of adventure, intrigue and magic. A world where things are not as they seem and twists and turns exist. Faeries and more. It's not too heavy but it's compelling. This is my first fiction so there maybe many imperfections. Please proceed...
