The snow slowly started to fall from the sky, the Christmas lights are flashing in the dark. Baby, It's Cold Outside is playing softly in the background meanwhile, Audrey is reading her book in silence with a mug of hot chocolate.
Across the street is Elliott his house, the Christmas tree inside of their house is shining and full of glitters thanks to his little sister. Decorating the Christmas tree with his sister is one of his favorite things to do, his sister is now in deep rest. So, he decided to put on The Nightmare Before Christmas, since it was on tv.
When the movie is halfway through, he looks outside and sees the snow falling. When he looks better, he sees the girl from across the street. He was thinking hard to figure out what her name is, they met one time, since he moved here, so it's no surprise he isn't the best neighbor. But still there was something about her that he didn't forget after they first met. After a few minutes of watching what she's doing he notices she's wearing a thin jean jacket and a pair of leggings. He walks away from the living room, making sure he doesn't wake up his sister.
He grabs his coat, a sweatshirt and two pairs of gloves. He opens the door to meet the cold air and he takes a deep breath.
Meanwhile Audrey has no idea that Elliott was watching her, she's really invested in getting this snowman right. It should be perfect, but it will never be. She feels like she's the main character from her book, playing in the snow and waiting for her mysterious good-looking boy to come by.
"Hey," Audrey hears from somewhere, but she ignores it knowing they aren't calling her name, but then again, she hears a hey yelled from somewhere near her. When she looks across the way she sees Elliott, her new neighbor, they talked maybe once, and it was brief. Still she couldn't shake the thought that he wasn't that bad looking or forget the way he talked.
"Hey." She finally responded.
"What are you doing here?"
"I'm building a snowman is it that hard to see? I get it because it sucks so bad, anyway what are you doing?" She asks him while inspecting the snowman.
"No, I didn't mean that it looked bad, it's just that it's cold and you're not wearing anything warm, so I thought that-"
"Okay I'm starting over that sentence. Your snowman looks good, it's just that you're trying to build a snowman while it's snowing, in a thin jacket and leggings and I saw how cold you were from the living room window, so I thought maybe you could use these." He says and hands her the sweatshirt and gloves.
"Thank you." Audrey says not knowing what other words she could use. It's not like boys walk up to her every day, well boys she thinks that are cute, and care about her being cold. After a while she notices that she's staring at him and quickly looks down.
"I guess I should go back inside and let you work on your snowman."
"You could also stay and help me?"
"Are you sure? I don't want to disturb you in your fun."
"The more the merrier." Audrey says and they both smile at each other.
The time passed by and they spend it finishing the snowman, making snow angels and having a snowball fight. Near the end of the snowball fight they slowly started to move towards each other. When Audrey grabs a hand of snow and pushes it in Elliott his face they start laughing, like they did most of the night.
"I probably should go back inside it's getting late. I'll see you soon I guess, goodnight." Audrey says and starts to walk away. Elliott grabs her by the waist and kisses her.
"How about tomorrow? Watching a movie and drinking hot chocolate?" Elliott asks, and Audrey nods her head speechless. They kiss again one more time and move apart from each other saying goodnight.

I found some christmas prompts so I've decided to try and write some short stories with them. I want to write and publish new stories as much as I can. - TyeishaAlso the gif used above isn't mine credit to the owner.
