TAEYONG heaved a big sigh as he looked up from his campus map and onto the door of room that he was going to live in for the next two years. gulping as he opened it, he prayed it was sanitary inside. a disgusted whine came out of him when he saw his roommate's side already trashed; suitcase left half open with clothes tossed on the ground, campus info papers a whole mess on their shared bedside table. even the roommate himself was a mess, light brown hair sticking upwards in every direction. he squinted at his campus info paper, looking for his roommate's name.
NAME — NAKAMOTO, YUTA
CLASSES — DANCE145 , BUSINESS230'he's in my dance, huh?' taeyong thought. 'this is going to interesting.' bitterly, he placed his papers down neatly on his bed, and aligned his suitcase against the wall. plopping down on his bed, he immediately texted his friends in their groupchat complaining about the mess of a roommate he had. their responses were just teasing taeyong for how cute he was for being such a clean freak. taeyong huffed.
ignoring the messy room, taeyong was giddy that he was accepted into a good university; one that covered major arts and the business area. he had applied for dance and marketing, the second class being something he was very good at. taeyong was one of those smart kids — people used to call him a nerd, and he is, mind you — but he was still cool and popular among guys and girls.
it was at that moment that the boy yuta woke up. taeyong sat there awkwardly, round eyes watching his roommate sit up and ruffle his hair. the japanese boy was handsome with striking features, along with ever so sharp hazel eyes. his jawline and nose well defined, thin lips looking plush.
"oh," was the first thing yuta says. taeyong, being the shy person gave a little wave. "hi. taeyong, right? we have dance together and uh—oh sorry about this mess." yuta smiled at taeyong sweetly. taeyong was embarrassed that such a handsome boy was talking to him, cheeks turning as red as his hair. "it's okay," he mumbled out.
taeyong found out more about yuta after they'd cleaned up the mess. the younger had gone to highschool in korea hence his amazing pronunciation. he enjoyed dancing and soccer and playing videogames. taeyong really did think that yuta looked like a complete rebel, but he was well mannered and kind and funny.
taeyong told him about being teased as a nerd when he was younger, and surprisingly, yuta listened. his feline like eyes were on the older the whole time, which sent shivers down taeyong's spine. he was happy; people normally didn't care what he was ranting about, but here was yuta sitting patiently and listening to his every word. "if you're a nerd, you're a really cute one," yuta said, giving taeyong a big grin. taeyong's eyes widened and blushed, hiding his face behind his hands.
"t-thanks," taeyong mustered shyly.

what yuta didn't mention to taeyong was about his highschool life. the japanese boy felt taeyong was too pure and soft to hear about his old self, and yuta wanted to make a good impression on the older. (he did, a very charming impression on taeyong, but the cherry haired boy was too shy to tell him that.)yuta was a bully. he'd like to abuse his power on people. he was the leader of his friend group. his friends practically worshipped him, only under fear. yuta was that powerful, somedays picking on a loner and steal his money, other times playing the worst pranks ever on girls. he'd talk back to teachers and humiliate them like it was nothing.
it was to the point that the whole community couldn't take it anymore. yuta was banned from that district. it was a small, poor town anyways. yuta was now in seoul. off to a new start.
this time, everyone's attention would be on him because he was such an outgoing guy.
no one has to pay attention to the past. yuta grinned.
