"Markus!" North screams from across the room, twisting her head around to meet Markus' eyes before he could even answer. "We should have a Halloween party!"

Markus, who only proposed they should do something for Halloween moments ago, looks over at her. Looking from her eyes that happen to be lit up in the moment to the phone shining onto her face, he takes an expression of slight concern.

"That's a great idea!" Markus replies quite enthusiastically. With all due respect to North, he thought she would be capable of coming up with something better. He wanted something special, something different you couldn't find less than a mile away.

North, the smile on her face glowing even more as a text pops up on the phone inches away from her face, nods at Markus. Her eyes quickly shift back to the screen, happily replying, "Thanks, babe!"

Markus was quite uncomfortable most of the time now. He hasn't been able to pin point the source for this shift in personality either. He figures it's because the revolution is over and now he just doesn't feel like he has as much purpose.

Sure, lots of androids love and look up to him, even more so when his revolution proved successful. Even some humans would come up to him in public and talk to him about the whole thing and how he managed to do it. Everyone in the world today, for the most part at least, looks up to him. There are still a few human supremacists trying to lead their own revolution against the androids, though.

Most of the world seemed happy to conform to the new android and human equal rights. Cyberlife isn't producing androids anymore because they, too, believe androids are people. You can't sell people, and you can't clone them either.

With the lack of new androids being produced and the laws against people selling the existing ones, Cyberlife stores all around the world have been remodeled to produce new things. Not androids, but useful household and much higher grade technologies.

Using their knowledge found after the revolution, Cyberlife has lead a much more friendly way of marketing and only selling stuff like roombas, computers, and as many other gadgets as you could possibly think. Their tech still sits on the high end reign of the market, but implementing their advancements into things like computers and phones have made a lot of people happy.

Markus is quite pleased with how the world has landed and he is proud of himself for managing to pull off a peaceful revolution. But something is still missing for him.

The world is as equal and as fair as it's ever been, mainly because of Markus himself. He appreciates the thanks, the kind gestures people make, and even the books written dedicated to the work he's done, but there is just something Markus knows is missing.

He thought long and extensively about what he could be overlooking and when he recalled one thing he hadn't been able to think about when introduced, he thought even harder.

During the revolution North had told Markus about how she felt toward him. During such an intense and important time, not to mention the unrequited feelings on his side, he overlooked it at the time being. Assuring North he would respond when the revolution ended, he managed to let this go at the time. Coming back to it as both promised and expecting a good change, he acted on what he thought was best.

Markus, thinking it was just the stress of the situation and the inability to focus on everything else, decided he would at least see if he liked North. He had never felt love before in his life, not toward anyone except Carl, but that was fatherly love. This was different. He didn't quite understand if it was what he felt toward North.

Taking the chance of that being the case, riding on the hope of it filling in this gap he knew was missing, he did seem to love North. She felt really, really close to him.

Markus went to both Josh and Simon when looking for what to do with things like this. Josh didn't really know either, and didn't seem to be too comfortable with talking to Markus about North.

As much as Josh wanted to say, he refused to explain what love was, because he knew he would go on about describing exactly how it feels only to slip up and say Markus' name. He could deal with them being together if Markus didn't know about how he really felt. He was just happy that Markus was happy, or he at least seemed to be with North.

Simon was able to talk to Markus about love and what it meant, but he knew he had to be careful as well. Both Josh and Simon shared the same type of feelings toward Markus, though Simon was the only of the two who managed to put that beneath him for the time being.

Simon did his best to explain love to Markus. Explaining love as an intense emotion toward someone with no limit of devotion and not restricted to sex seemed to get Markus to understand, at least a bit.

Though both Simon and Markus thought Markus understood the kind of love Simon was talking about, neither of them knew Markus had no idea.
