Chapter 9

A/N: I'm super sorry that I haven't updated in quite a while. It's cos I had writer's block.. -__- Anyways, how are you guys doing? Yesterday, I watered the plants and practically demolished my mom's roses. Any of you ever done that? And then mom kinda started chasing me around the house, screaming at me in tagalog. Which is the language that they speak in the Philippines. Trust me, you do not wanna have a crazy asian woman angryily chasing after you.. :D Anywho, back to the story. Hope y'all enjoy this chapter! (Lol, I've always wanted to put ' ya'll ' in something..just never got round to it.)

Ismae's Pov

"So do you wanna come to Colton's party after school tonight? It's vampires only. No humans so the alcohol and stuff will be stronger. Not that you have to drink alcohol of course. It's just that I think that.." On and on Mel went, going on about this 'Vamp's only' party that Colton, Kane's best friend, was holding. She was absolutely obssessed with the poor guy and I'm now definitely sure that she was crushing on him. She suddenly stopped talking and asked, "Are you even listening Ismae? Ok, I know you're not. Look, if you don't want to go that's fine, I just.." she trailed off and started sniffing. Oh no. I was a sucker for her puppy dog face. I've only known her for two weeks and yet she's used that expression on me at least 5 times now. I sighed. If I went to this party, Kane was bound to be there. Not good. However, going to this thing meant that I could get a look at all the vampires in town and if I was lucky might find someone who knows something about my family's muderer. Hmm.. to go or not to go? I looked at Mel's puppy face one more time and said, "Ah hell. Ok, I'll go." She squealed and grabbed my arm, leading me towards the cafeteria, chattering away about dresses and shoes, outfits and whatnot. I grabbed an apple just as Colton appeared behind Mel and inquired, "What's this about dresses and shoes I hear? And a party as well? Hmm Amelia. You naughty naughty girl. A party that I'm not invited to?" He teases.

Mel giggles and blushes like a fool and slaps him on the arm, "You know what party we're talking about Colton. " She bats her eyelashes. Yup. Definitely crushing on her brother's best friend. I wonder how that will go down... I was brought back from my musings when Colton steered us to a table in a far corner of the cafeteria and I soon found myself sitting next to Kane. Great. Kane smirked at me and I ignored him, choosing to eat my apple instead of acknowledging his presence. However, he seems oblivious to the fact that I don't want to talk to him.

"So Ismae, are you going to the party?" I was about to lie and reply no when Mel chips in. "Yeah! It's great that we're all going! It's gonna be epic."

Kane raises his eyebrows at me, "Really? Well, I'll pick you up Ismae. 7 pm. Look for a black Ford Kugar." I start to protest but he just ignores me. I grit my teeth. A long car ride with Kane. A party with Kane. Always Kane.. Ugh. Epic my ass.
