I was watching him, strolling from here and there. He had a demonic grin on his scarred face. The remote in his hand kept blinking like the tail light of a car. The same shade of red but way more life-threatening. We all knew why he was happy. We knew why he had that grin on his face while the rest of us were scared enough to even squeak.

He was waiting for.... her. The cops had surrounded the building but he didn't care about them, they were like cannon fodder. And we were the only collateral holding them at bay from bashing in through the doors.

If he wanted he could take us all out including the cops from the amount of C4 he had planted on the pillars and in the centre of the floor. The whole building will come down with the push of just one small red button.

But he didn't do it, he didn't want to. Not yet...

He was waiting. We all were lying with our faces on the floors. We were all just baits after all. Things he could use to control the situation. The cold stone marble felt even colder as my sweaty cheeks kissed it. She was also scared. I had brought here on the anniversary of our confession to buy her some new earrings. The biggest mistake of my life.

She was looking at me, her wide runny eyes like asking me to save her. Telling me to push on, stand up, throw a punch. But what can I do? My heart constantly slammed against my chest trying to burst out itself. No matter what I do I couldn't get the thought of dying out of my scurrying mind.

While the man holding all the cards was still frustratingly strolling around. He had already killed his two companions as I watched in horror. That was the time I knew that this man wasn't after jewellery or money. He just wanted revenge...

"after all this time. Finally, after all this time.

I'll get to see her again. I will have what I'm owed...

And then....... She will die."

The man said with a smile of a devil.

His long unkempt hair covered half of his burnt face. One eye had turned white while the other was black. He was waiting for the girl who was responsible for it. She was the one who had sent him to prison, about 3 years ago.

After being released, he had immediately enacted another heist. But this time it was a little more dangerous. The man had gone insane. I knew he didn't care about others but this time, he was willing to take his own life too.

"Detective, is she here yet?" he said in the loudspeaker.

"Look, don't do anything hasty. We have called for her, through the traditional means available. It's already on the news channels. It's been only an hour. Give us more time, she will be here soon." the cop said on loudspeakers from outside.

The announcement sent a jolt down my spine. And I wasn't the only one. We all knew how crazy this guy was. He had already killed two chaps, that worked for him. And if he didn't get what he wants. There is no telling what he will do to his hostages. The crying and shouts grew as people swallowed there fears.

"People are getting antsy here detective. Your time is up. If she isn't here in the next two minutes......

I'll start."

Shit! I knew what that meant. But soon as if to calm our hearts and send a wave of relief, the sound from outside came again.

" Scar, I'm here" this time a girl spoke. A devilish grin covered his face again.

"good then, come on in. I don't think I need to give you the keys, do I? " he said.

The metallic doors of the store suddenly melted into a honey-like goo. The person standing at the other end was a woman. She had blonde hairs with ginger colour at the end. Her face could not be seen as she covered it with a black mask and eyes with a marron googles. She wore a leather thermo friction proof suit Or that was what the media keeps telling us. But whatever it was, it was black and skin tight.
