It all started in Lake County in the Mountains of Colorado. There was a family of three, two men and their Daughter. The two men were Miles Upshur, a Freelance Investigative Reporter, and Waylon Park, a Computer Software Engineer for a unknown company. Their Daughter is Alexandria, a kind and smart girl, who is as stubborn as her Father, Miles. Alexandria knew her family was different from many others, but she loved her Dads as much as anybody would love their parents. One day, her Dad (or Mom in the whole Father-Dad-Daughter thing) Waylon came to her to tell her that he was leaving for his new job, that was located farther up in the Mountains. "But Dad...do you have to go?" Alexandria said as tears made their way down her pale face. Waylon looked at her with sad brown eyes. "Alex...you know I have too." He said as he wiped his Daughter's tears away. "But...Think about it this way Alex. If your good for your Father, than we can go out and spend some time together. Maybe we can see a Movie or Go Ice Skating. How does that sound?" Waylon said as his 13 almost 14 year old Daughter looked up at him. "I'd like that Dad." She said as she hugged him. "I'll miss you." Alexandria said as she buried her head into her Dad's shirt. "I'll miss you too." Waylon said as he hugged her. "I love you." Waylon said as she pulled away from his blonde-haired Daughter. "I love you more." Alexandria said as her Dad smiled. "I love you most." He said as he planted a kiss on her Forehead. "Night Alex." He said as he stood from his spot on the bed. "Night Dad." Alex said as her Dad made his way to the door. "Don't let the Bed Bugs bite." Waylon said as he flicked off the light and left the room. Alex listened as her Father, Miles, began talking to her Dad. As much as Alex loved both her parents, she hated when either her Dad or Father had to leave for work, so she had to make the most of her time with them. Alex slowly began to fall asleep when she heard her Father telling her Dad that someone named Jeremy was there for him. As Alex closed her eyes, she heard a car door close and her Father head upstairs to get ready for bed. Little did either of them know, it would be a while before Waylon comes home.
Days past since Alex saw her Dad. The Days turned into Weeks. Alex waited for Hours on end for her Dad to come home and take time for her and her Father. Alex would wait by the door. She would read, write, draw, do homework, anything that would pass the time. She knew her Dad, well-enough to know he wouldn't break his promise to her. Alex helped her Father out around the house, she was afraid that soon...he will leave for work too....and she was Right. After weeks of waiting for her Dad, It turns out that her Father got fired from his job due to some kind of false report from his time in Afghanistan and got a new lead from a 'whistleblower.' The only reason he hadn't left yet was because of Alex. One day, Alex's Father came to her and told her about his new job. "But...Father. What about Dad?" Alex said as her Father slipped on his coat. "Alex, Your Dad should be home soon. He probably didn't think about his work hours." Her Father said as he helped Alex put her homework back in her backpack. "I'm gonna be gone for a while, sweetie. Lisa is gonna be watching after you until your Dad or I come back." He said as he went to answer the door. He opened the door to reveal Aunt Lisa. "Hey Lisa." Miles said as the frowning woman pushed her way past the tall brunette man. "Hi Aunt Lisa." Alex said causing Lisa to smile. "Hey Alex." She said patting the girl on the head. "Thanks for coming over Lisa. I really got to get a move on if I want to make this story." Miles said as his Daughter ran up to him and gave him a hug. "Bye Father." She said as Miles knelt down and kissed her forehead. "Bye Alex. I love you." Miles said as his blue eyes meet his Daughter's blue eyes. "Love you too, Father." Alex said as both Alex and her Father felt Lisa's intense glare on both of them. "I'll be back soon, sweetie. Bye." He said as Lisa guided him to the door. "Yeah, yeah. Get out Miles." Lisa said as she pushed the brunette Investigator out the door. Alex sent a light glare toward Lisa as she listened as the door to her Father's Jeep slammed shut and drive away. Lisa turned and guided Alex away from the door and began to do the Girl's nightly routine. Lisa tucked the blonde girl into bed as Alex sat up to talk to her Dad's ex-wife. "Aunt Lisa, when do you think Dad and Father is coming back?" Alex asked as Lisa sent the girl a glare at the mention of her Father. "Alex, sweetie, remember what I told you? When Waylon or your disgrace for a Father isn't around, you are to call me Mom, alright?" Lisa said in a sickly sweet tone. "Yes, Mom." Alex whispered, not liking to call her Aunt her own Mother or Parent. It wasn't a secret to Alex that Lisa hated Miles. Alex knew Lisa still loved her Dad, but Dad loved her Father and her Father loved her Dad. She always listens to when her Dad and Father said their good nights and I love you. She sometime would get woken up by noises coming from her Dad and Father's room at night. She never really questioned it, but when she did her Dad would usually get red and her Father would smirk or laugh. According to both of them, it's how a couple shows they love each other. "Mom, when do you think Dad and Father will come back?" Alex asked causing Lisa to look at the young girl. "Hopefully, Your Dad will come back soon. As for your Father...hopefully never." Lisa said causing Alex to glare at her Dad's ex. "Goodnight, Mom." Alex spitted out as she turned her back to the middle-aged woman. "Night Alex." Lisa said before standing and heading to the door. Lisa turned off the Lights before leaving the room. Alex tossed and turned in her bed, not really used to the nights when both her Dad and Father was gone. After hours of trying to sleep, Alex got up from her bed and decided to get a drink from the kitchen. Alex slowly opened her door and crept down the stairs. She began to make her way past her Parents's office. She looked inside the office, only to find the computer was still on. Alex looked around before stepping into the office. Alex was usually not allowed in the office unless her Father or Dad was in there, but recently they've been on a budget of how much money they use on bills and such. Alex crept toward the computer before sitting on the chair. She moved the mouse around to find a email was still open in her Father's account. She began to read through the email.

Subject: TIP / Illegal Activity at Murkoff Psychiatric SystemsYou don't know me. Have to make this quick. They might be monitoring.
I did 2 weeks of software consult at MURKOFF Psychiatric Systems' facilities in Mount Massive. All sorts of NDA's I am very much breaking right now but seriously, fuck those guys.
Terrible things happening there. Don't understand it. Don't believe half the things I saw. Doctors talking about dream therapy going too deep, finding something that had been waiting for them in the mountain. People are being hurt and Murkoff is making money.
It needs to be exposed.
Alex couldn't believe what she was reading. She may not understand half of what she read but she did know two somethings....and that is to find out what happened to her Dad and her Father. And to find out what Murkoff did to them.
