Hey, This is my first chapter of TAT. I hope you guys like it! Have fun.

------------------------------------

I knew she would get her letter today. So I decided to go to her house once my classes were over. I was now on the path in her front yard. I smiled as I remembered what we had done together earlier when we were in middle school. I've been here so many times.

I arrived at her door and I knocked. The sound would be hard enough for someone to hear, so I waited until someone opened the door. Finally the door opened. Her mother stood in front of me.

"Hi Stephen, it's been a long time." She said with a wink.

"Yeah, I know." I smiled. "Can I come in, Ms. Black?"

"Of course dear, you're always welcome." She said when she stepped aside so I could come in.

"Where is she?" I asked as soon as I was in their hallway.

"Upstairs, her room."

I hurried up the stairs and in no time I stood in front of her bedroom door. I knocked excited on her door. I waited for a few seconds, but I didn't hear anything.

"Sky, It's me. Open up!"

There came her voice, soft as if she had just cried. "No. I don't want you to come in. Not when I'm being like this."

"What's wrong?" I banged on the door. "Sky let me in now!" I yelled.

I heard footsteps coming to the door and then there she was.

She stood in the doorframe and looked me in the eyes. I could say she had cried. A lot. I didn't wait for her to say I could come in. I was already hugging her to my chest. Then I picked her up and I carried her to her bed. There I sat down with her on my lap. When she locked eyes with me again I finally asked.

"What's wrong?"

She wept a few tears and then gave me an answer. "I got it."

I started rubbing her back right away while I let her hug me. I closed my eyes when she laid her head fall on my shoulders. I whispered in her ear. "I'm sorry."

Suddenly she held back and looked to me. Our eyes connected. "It's not your fault. I just don't dare. I can't open it."

My eyes got wide. She didn't open it. What was she crying about then. I couldn't believe what I just heard. I stopped rubbing her back while my hands were falling down beside her back.

"You.. You didn't open it?"

"No. I'm scared."

With that I stood up, so she had to stand on her own or she would fall flat on the floor. I looked her a little bit angry in the eyes. "Come on! Open it!" I yelled at her.

"No, I'n not brave enough. You do it." And with that she handed me the letter. Wait, she had it in her hand the whole time? Well that wasn't important now. I cleared my throat while I opened it. It had to be good news. It had to be.

As soon as the letter was in my hand I began to read.

Hello Ms. Black,

I wrote this letter to congratulate you with your invitation to the Ball.

I hope you are willing to give everything you have.

I look forward to hearing your story.

Yours Sincerely,

Mr. Johnston.

The corners of my mouth were tucking into a smile. I knew that this was just the beginning.
