Meet Marina Mercy. She is normal - The kind of normal that, in fact, is so normal, that it isn't. She has dark brown, almost black hair and startlingly blue eyes. Her hair, like herself, is normal. One day it might look brown, the next, it might look black, she never knows. Like I said, completely normal.

Then there is her best friend, Lucy Iris. She and Marina were so similar, that they were polar opposites. Do you see where I am going with this? Lucy liked some sort of colour in her wardrobe, Marina didn't. Lucy liked Panic! At The Disco, so did Marina. Lucy hated her glasses, Marina liked hers. They both had the same music taste, talents, flaws, so to a T, it made them different from each other. Lucy even looked like she could be related to Marina. She had the same hair colour as her, shoe size, hell, even height, the only view able physical difference are her eyes, Lucy's eyes were a unique kind of brown, not the boring colour you see in most brown eye'd people, no, Lucy's were different. Her eyes were light brown with several rings of dark brown running through them and tiny flecks of gold. 

And then... there was Jordan. Jordan Bayani. Oh how Marina hated him. Hated him so much, that she loved him. I mean, of course she did. He was her boy best friend, of course. He, himself, also looked similar to the girl, is, but also, in a way that was different. He had brown hair too, but it was light brown, the kind that shone under sunlight. And his eyes. His eyes were Marina's favourite part of him. They were a sparkling emerald green colour. Marina loved them. Whenever he would jokingly wink at her and call her baby they would sparkle in the mischievous way that only his eyes could. 

Enough introductions. Lets get on to what caused the trouble making trio to fall apart at the seams. Well, Jordan did. He broke an 'ancient' pact that the three made years ago, and if it was ever broken.. well, they didn't particularly know what they were going to do. 

Jordan broke the pact, and their friendship broke itself. The trouble making trio became a trouble making duo. On the day that Marina and Lucy never speak of, it was the first time Jordan smirked in the way he did, it was the first time that when he smirked his eyes sparkled, but differently. They sparkled, don't get me wrong, but it wasn't they way that Marina loved, it was a type of sparkle she could forget. 

And then she knew that her Jordan was gone. 

and there we have it. this was the prologue of my book Smirk, but don't worry, it's not a sad, depressing book (i hope). this is dedicated to my friend Lucy (@Walshyyyy) because shes my best friend, but also because she inspired the character Lucy Iris. 

The rest of the chapters will be written in Marina's point of view, unless said otherwise.
